Humor can pop up in the unlikeliest places. My daughter emailed yesterday that her adored Himalayan had been in heat for the past four days, and the poor dear had been driving the entire family nuts with her moaning and whining. To make matters worse, a stray tomcat had taken up residence outside their home, lying in wait for Gracie to be allowed outside. My daughter gave him the name "Tommy", just for fun.
She wrote that by Wednesday evening, her patience had worn too thin, so she relented and allowed Gracie to go outside about an hour before everyone retired for the night. Her exact words were, "Mama, I couldn't stand it any longer. Gracie and Tommy had their night of unbridled passion in the crawl space under the house."
Gracie has an appointment with the vet next week to tame her passion and make her a far more contented lady. Tommy is bound to have to look for greener pastures.
