My daughter aced it!

I'm so thrilled, my daughter, who is a senior in college majoring in special ed, made all A's this semester! She was floating on air... but everyone she called about it was so ho hum (jealousy maybe?). I was especially proud as she also takes excellent care of her 2 year old son (who I keep while she's in school). And yes he already loves beads! We have a special stash he plays with almost every time he comes over... if he doesn't turn out to be some kind of beader, it won't be Nana's fault!

Anyway, I wanted to encourage my daughter to continue the good work, so I took her to my special drawer and gave her a lovely amethyst/sterling necklace and an onyx/sterling ring... And we took a bead detour so I could match a bracelet to her new blouse I got her for Christmas. It's sort of a

60's style, with shades of rose and olive, with paisley and rose designs on it with a fairly low V neck and long sleeves. So I have plenty of skin space to deal with if I made a necklace as well! I'm not sure exactly how I will bead it as yet. Any suggestions? Will post a pic when I get done.

Whatever did I do for reassurance before I became a beader? I can't remember! Anyhow, Beads to the rescue again! :)

Hurrah! I cannot imagine fnishing college at the same time as caring for a small child. Your daughter has an amazing amount of stick-to-it-iveness!

I write letters to DD, telling her exactly why I think she's so special. I know for a fact that she saves the letters.

Congratulations to you, and your fabulous daughter! No ho hum attitude from me ... what she did was so important, and so much harder with a little one to deal with. You have been a wonderful mom to offer her so much support and love to enable this wonderful accomplishment. You both deserve to take a bow! Diana

Congratulations to your daughter!! Tell her that your bead friends don't think it's ho hum, it's fantastic! And what a fine example she's setting for her son!

Wow, I am really impressed by your daughter... getting through school with a small child is challenging enough, let alone getting ALL A's! That's very impressive!

VERY cool! i got a charge out of Johnny and his room mate, Eddie. they called to tell me that Eddie got 2 MORE POINTS on an essay than Johnny did. they've been competing with each other since the 7th grade, and this is Eddie's first time outscoring Johnny on anything academic - so they posted it on their refrigerator. what great kids!

**grin** isn't it? they've been friends for eight years now. Eddie out-scores Johnny on most things athletic and was promoted to Sgt before Johnny was. Johnny usually outscores on academics. they are such fun when they are together. they even take the same college classes together. one big, tall, white-boy and one little, short, black boy . . . . and they are inseparable. spending Christmas with them was GREAT.
