OT! Time to lighten up rctn!

June bugs!! Definitely June bugs!! They have clingy little feet and made an awful noise when they beat their wings. I won't venture outside doors at night without a hat when I know they're around!

oooh... we've had some banner years here with those darn things.

my previous furkid, Buttons (yeah, I didn't name him!), hated them and probably the funniest thing we ever saw was when he had one on its back on the concrete, had his nose no more than an inch from it's spinning, panicking little body and was growling low and steady at it while hundreds more bounced off the poor dog. Wish I'd had a camcorder for that one.

the current furkid just eats them and has made herself sick so now I have to monitor her during june bug season.

As I understand it, they only feed about once every two years. That one clearly was not hungry, either that or he looked at you and said to himself "Not bloody likely!"

I hope it's a red hat Mavia lol I notice Bucket who loved to catch everything never ate them, they must taste bad.

Definitely a red hat with lots of flowers! :) Our cats used to eat them!....I'd usually find evidence of their snacks under a bed! YUCK!!

This must mean Bucket is more discriminating than I suspected, for a cranky old man. lol

Or maybe he was just lazy! :) I think mine did it more for the sport....'Hey, there's something that moves...let's attack!'...rather than the urge to feed. It was obvious that they didn't agree with them!

No, no, it was discriminating ! He would grab all the moths etc. just not the June bugs. He particularly liked the crunchy moths that is why I wondered if the even more crunchy June bugs did not taste good.

Old GOW is too stringy? Too tough? Too nasty-tasting? Or just plain toxic?

I wore a red hat to my son`s wedding, not having heard that saying. He enlightened me when I asked him what the rest of the Royal Marines attendunf the wedding were laughing about!!!

Oh dear - that "PATRICIA!" reminds me of my convent school when I was in trouble with one of the nuns!!! ;-)) Specifically for fighting with my best friend.
