punchneedle

Does anyone here do punchneedle? I find that I'm falling in love with the look of this and so I'm interested in trying this out. I also thought it might put the tons of my floss to some good use!

I think I saw that it can use regular floss, right? Any suggestions for which punchneedles to get? I'd love to hear from anyone who's doing this and especially any tips you might have.

I would go to a hobby or craft shop and buy a booklet on it to read before investing in any equipment or materials. I have found that doing some reading in acvance is always worth while -- if I want to proceed I know what to get and avoid costly mistakes, and if I decide I'm really not that interested I have spent very little and learned a lot.

I recently rediscovered punch needle embroidery ( I used to do it as a teenager many years ago) and have found a great deal of items on eBay for the craft. Needles patterns yarn etc. . there is a website also for mail order

that has everything you need.

Also as an idea for beginning I used a transfer pencil over coloring book drawings and Ironed them onto fabric to use as patterns. Lots of fun and some really pretty pictures resulted.

My DW has started doing this in January and she likes it a lot. She started with a project that came with a instructional DVD. She enjoyed the first project she did and is working on a new one. The projects workup quicker than XS and she can do it at night when she is too tired to enjoy counted stitching. I would suggest getting the largest hoop available DW started with a "standard" size and went to the largest for her 2nd project. Kathy at Needle Delights

Haven't called on Kathy for punchneedle, but I have found her very helpful for other things. Extremely prompt service, too.
