Recommendations for aida off the bolt?

Hi everyone!

I was wondering if anybody had recommendations for places online to buy

14ct white aida cut from a bolt. I'm not sure how much to expect to pay...but I need as low a price as possible, since shipping heavy fabric to Norway is going to set me back a bit and my budget is a little tight. Sadly, it's still cheaper to import than to buy locally.

So, does anybody know of places with good prices on bolt-cut aida? I think I need somewhere around 2 to 3 yards, but I'm not totally sure yet.

Hey, it's snowing again! Becky A.

Not sure about online, but I can buy it at Hobby Lobby for 5.00 USD a yard and it's about 45 inches wide. When their needlework department goes half price, it can be had for half of that.

I'm just giv>Hi everyone!

You can find a vast array of Aida and other fabrics and cross stitch related items on

Aida is sold by the fat quarter and by the meter, and the price by the meter is 12.90 British Pounds. There is also a VAT of 17.5% for all purchases in the European Union. When you get to the site, there is a list headed by "Department" on the left side of the page, and Aida fabric is 6th in the list. Once you click there and arrive at the Aida page, you'll see a double sided list of the available Aida types, and plain 14 count is 5th in the list on the right side. This company is also having a sale on Aida right now, so this might be a good time to take a look at their sale offerings. The sale link is just above the double sided list. HTH

Thanks for that link, Betty - I can start collecting Au ver a soie again - I gave what I had away as it was so hard to find in the UK. I really love it - it`s so beautiful to work with, and I`d love to collect all of it (eventually!!!)

I do appreciate the link, Betty. However, the currency exchange doesn't favor the dollar right now. Norway isn't in the EU, so there's no VAT, but I really can't afford to pay $38 for two meters of plain white aida and then another $14 in shipping from the UK.

However, I did bookmark it. There's lots of neat stuff to browse thru!

Thanks, though! Becky A.

Have you looked at E Bay? I know there are several sellers of aida by the yard. I wonder if you got in touch with one of them could you work something out. I know a lot of them are willing to ship international.

It's times like these when I really wish Michaels wasn't the only game in town back home. They never really carried bolts of aida, not that I could find at least. Besides, I dare not ask Dad to go out and buy something like that. Who knows what I'd get!

I love my daddy, but boy is he useless in the craft store! Becky A.
