Richmond, VA area LNS

Does anyone know of any needlework shops (yarn or embroidery) in or near Richmond, Virginia?

Thanks! Dianne

Dianne, I saw your post about needlework shops in Richmond and I was hoping you'd get a response. I used to shop at an LNS at the corner of Arch Rd. (I think) and Midlotian Turnpike but they closed (or moved) so long ago I no longer rememeber the name. Then again, I moved away from Richmond in '90 so every time I go "home", it's to a whole new city! We pass through that area on our way home from D.C. since I still have family there. I had wondered about needlework shops too, but my relatives don't have those hobbies. If you don't get a response soon, I'll call my S I L and ask her to look in her phone book for me.

I can't get over the fact that there aren't any Dunkin' Donuts there anymore, just those sugar-bombs Krispy Kreme sells. Lee Ann

There is a great shop just north of the city in Ashland called Caroline's Thread and Canvas.

and it is very easy to get to from I-95There is also a shop called In Stitches down in Chester, 4100 West Hundred Road Suite C, Chester, VA 23831(804) 748-9198 but their web site no longer works and I haven't been down in a while so I'd call first. I've been to both shops and always see lots I want.

In Richmond city itself, several people have mentioned that Chadwick Heirlooms 5805 Grove Avenue, Richmond, Virginia 23226 Phone: (804) 285-3355 is good although they specialize more in smocking and sewing supplies. Their web site is really just a store at shopping.safeport.com
