LSSs in OH, VA & NC

Am headed east soon & am looking for LSSs where I'll be. Just checked the RCS website & found some for Ohio (looking for ones in/near Warren or between there & New Castle, PA). Anyone familiar with the one in Warren ("Book Nook")?

The RCS website link for Virginia wasn't working (I emailed M-C), so does anyone know of any LSSs in the Northern Virginia area?

How about any in the Outer Banks area of North Carolina? I browsed the list on the RCS website, but I don't know that area & didn't see any for the few towns I know are nearby.

Has anyone ever seen a LSS finder website that's arranged by map? That would be most helpful for travelers who don't know the area where they'll be traveling.

Secret message for Dave: I'm taking my eyelet setter & some of the paper. Will see if I can get my cousins interested in doing a "traditional" scrapbook of our trip. Will let you know if/how it goes when I return.

Thanks in advance, everyone, for any suggestions.

Up in the Warren area look up RitzPhoto shops. They are great, but a bit more pricey. I stopped at one in warren area. Back in that part of the country, RC Moore's are like Michaels, but better.

What I do before I go on trips, pick up the latest isse of Creating Keepsakes then do a map planner. When you get to places look in the phone book under crafts or scrapbooks.

Have fun, GOOD LUCK and be safe!!!

Somehow there was no page for Virginia anywhere on the server or on my computer. Weird. I've now created one but with only 3 names and I got the impression from Alicia that one of them might have already closed. Guess they paid for advertizing that came out after the fact!

Thanks for the list, Teresa! I'll even be in Fairfax one day, at least. Unfortunately, that store just closed June 15th. :-(

Will pass thru Winchester on the way back from Ohio, so probably no time to stop. Maybe I can make it to Chantilly or Sterling (it's going to be a busy few days!).

I didn't know they were in trouble. I just checked out their what's in the box week before last. I was going to go down there the week after next, oh well. I hope the list helped. Where else are you going, as I know a few stores in PA, WV and MD. Let me know if I can give you any more help with the LSSs in the 4 state area.

Not sure it was them that was in trouble. I think they lost their lease. I vaguely remember them saying they had to clear out earlier than planned.

Thanks. While I'll be passing thru MD & maybe WV, the only place I may have time to stop is in/near New Castle, PA. Will be passing by Winchester, VA, but on the way home from Ohio with a stop further down the Valley before heading back up to the NoVa area. All in one day. :::sigh:::

Alicia, If you ever come further south in VA, we have a nice shop called Scrapbooks Galore and More in Roanoke.

Thanks, Patsy! Not sure how close I'll get to Roanoke on my way to the beach in NC, but I'm not driving, so won't be able to stop. :::pout:::

Will keep it in mind, tho.

Where do you live in Northern VA? I used to live in PG County, MD growing up and sometimes go down to Ft Belvoir. Sterling is down Rt 7 Tyson Corner.

I grew up in Springfield, which is where I'll be visiting, but I live on the other coast these days. Can't find anything in NoVa without a map these days! LOL Things have sure changed in the past 16 years since I left. And, boy, how they've changed since I first moved to the area in '64!

I used to drive over to Springfield with a friend to visit family. They changed in the times between visits, like the three years we were in Greece or the three we were in Texas. The Beltway has become a true nightmare, especially with the Woodrow Wilson Bridge work. There are only now 6 places I can find without a map. They keep changing landmarks. Where did you teach in PG.

Am so glad I'm not commuting between Alexandria & PG County anymore! When people here complain about the freeway traffic, I tell them at least they can usually get off the freeway & take surface streets. Doesn't work if you live on one side of the WW Bridge & work on the other. Can you say 40-66 miles instead of 5? LOL

I can relate to that!
