where to buy cardstock for needlework?

Does anyone know where I can purchase tri-fold cardstock with a small cut-out to mount embroidery in the card? I have not been able to locate any locally anymore. The one place I found online (Embroideryetcetera.com) shows exactly what I want on their website but perhaps is no longer in business? I'm looking for 75 cards/envelopes for a program for my smocking guild chapter. Thanks in advance for your help.

They're very popular in the UK - I see ads for them most often in the BritStitch magazines. Check ebay.co.uk for "aperture cards" and there's a ton that may not be super-expensive. And amazon.co.uk has quite a selection if you search for "aperture card blanks".

Check local camera shops - they're most often used in the US by photographers.

Google under "window cards" and some will come up - but not many. They just don't appear to be as popular here as in the UK.

The other thing in camera shops is a box. Mine carries really nice boxes with 5 x 7, 4 x 6 and 8 x 10 openings. You can easily put a needlework piece in, makes a nice gift.

I would have thought some of those shops which carry all the stamping/decoupage type stuff would have cards.

The cards are pretty nice, they are available in different shaped openings. I've also seen some recently that have perforated paper in some cut-out openings, ready to stitch.

believe that my local store had some when I went in there two monthsago. Don't know how often stock changes. Donna in Virginia

Would that be Carsand-Mosher, Sheena? I'm looking for some boxes myself.

It was Black's in the Halifax Shopping Centre, I bought a couple there. CM's have that huge store near the camera store in Bayers Lake and they have a myriad of stuff for paper crafts etc etc, quite possible they would have boxes too.

I did one 5 x 7 for a cousins 50th birthday, she was thrilled to bits with it and it really didn't involve much work lol

OK, that's good to know. When making a gift of needlework I prefer mounting it in a box also. Even if it's something that doesn't suit their taste to put on a wall a box is always useful. Any that I have given have always been well received.

Also if you're planning to make a lot of these cards there are various size/shaped punches available that do a nice job. They too can be found where you buy stamping, scrap booking materials.
