Short Eared Owl chart?

Does anyone in the USA have a chart of a Short Eared Owl that they would be willing to lend me? I have an owl booklet but it doesn't have any of the s ame kind of owls and I need a Hawaiian Short Eared Owl. It would be great if they could send me a picture first, to see if I can use it for the proje ct I'm working on for my soon to be born Hawaiian great nephew. I have a p icture of an owl that I can chart if I need to but am hoping to not have to reinvent the wheel if there is a chart out there I could borrow and then m ail back when I'm done. I have found or made charts for 10 of the other an imals and have decided to just do long stitches for the Spiny Sea Urchins b ut the owl is giving me a headache. :-) The Petrel was giving me minor hea daches but I found a clear enough drawing from which I could graph the outl ine. Besides, a Petrel is not usually the kind of bird one finds already c harted. :-) I haven't yet quite figured out how to position the animals but I'm mixing things around in my head and have an idea or two, also leavi ng space for the baby's name (already have that) and birth date. I've also been learning a fair amount about native Hawaiian animals, which has made the project more fun than it could be.

Thank you,

Do you know how to chart your own? I use graph paper over a photograph of the proper size and then decide the stitches to use.

Enough is enough! After making a few attempts to chart the photos I found o f Hawaiian Short Eared Owls, I found a Pegasus/Stephanie Hedgepath "Great G ray Owl" that I'll use, switching out the grays/black for tans/browns and a djusting as necessary. I also found some beautiful Ice Blue 32 cnt Lugana i n my stash that will be perfect for the project. Now to actually pull the f loss and figure out what goes where, while still leaving room for baby's in formation. :-)

Sounds good. LOL, I have charted a few things for myself but I charted using the simplest stitches possible. I am lazy that way. I have this fantasy that some day I will make myself a dress or blouse with intense padding embroidery over most of it.
