So what have you finished so far this year?

I've got one of those with a mid-80's vintage.

Hmm - my finishes Elizabeth's Designs Friends kit, M-Designs kit of Loves, Loves Me Not.

I'm to the finishing on 3 bookmarks for DD's teachers - I found a hand with a heart in it that reminded me of "The Kissing Hand" - the book that started her school year. So, that, with some wording makes a sweet book mark.

I still have several "larger" things to finish stitching - I've worked on one, not the other one.

Finished my loooong-standing Dimensions Gold design, "In His care", which I've been waiting to finish for about 3 years (it's for me, so got put on hold often). Just need to wash & iron so I can get the foamcore cut for it. I've already picked out the mat but will have to wait to frame it, I think. I may have to use my framing money for a new camera. But then I'll be able to take pictures of my stitched projects! :))) (always looking for the silver lining, I am!)

Last month I finished a small, about 5x7, design, "Potting shed", from PatternsOnline.com I need to wash and iron that, too, and get it mounted.

Non-stitching: prepared for and made it through DD's high school graduation festivities, which took a huge chunk out of stitching time last month. All of my sisters (5) were home so I had fun visiting with them.

I'm hoping to have a few more finishes later this month as I've decided to do Christmas handtowels for all my coworkers (10). Just need to find the towels now!

Speaking of Christmas, does anyone know of any smallerish designs of Chinese dragons? And is there any significance to their color/shape? One of my coworkers likes them so I thought I'd do one for her C'mas present.

Although mine's a crocheted-with-thread bedspread. I had intended on finishing it by our 25th anniversary but that was 2 years ago. sigh. I started it in 1974 or 5, I think.

One of these days ..........

I *thought* there was something missing! When I got home last night I realized I had forgotten about my birdies! I stitched, washed, ironed and had framed (ta da!) "Story time" by Valerie Pfeiffer. Such cute little birds! That one's already in my webshots album:

Hi everyone! Honestly spoken I have not stitched much this year. I have knitted much though. At the moment I have one flower thing as active WIP. Active WIP means I am working on it. Passive WIPs....Do not ask how many there are. Passive WIPs aka UFO's....There are too many of them, and USO's...even more of them. But anyway...my only active WIP is nearly a FO at the moment. I need to stitch the outer border anymore, and then the thing is done. It has not even twisted much, even usually canvases twist or something. Best: Pirjo

I have several knitting yarns on stage on off waiting as well. But I did get my parterre done and framed. Barbara

I like the term passive WIP. I think I will keep it. Nearly all of my needlework has been 'passive' for the past month. I did some work on the iris panel though and am nearly finished the top left hand section. After a thousand of them, I think I am finally figuring out how to lay stitches properly.

I've also been refinishing a table for the past couple of weeks, and it is nearly done. I'm having people over for brunch tomorrow, so I have to finish the table today, as a matter of fact. The carpet is covered with drop cloth, and I thought I had everything covered but when I was brushing on the stain it splashed on to the living room wall. Now, I'm going to have to repaint the wall. Damn. But the table looks nice. Dora
