Trying out the cross stitching

Jul 06, 2008 0 Replies

Well, i am stitching away on a motif....and here I thought it would be decent looking! Ha, silly me. it will end up being about 4.5 by 4.5-the perfect size to stitch to a worn dish towel to make it last longer. Haven;t stitched enough to make every mistake in the book, but it seems like there are enough of them. I have learned though that i like stitching from the left(makes sense being a lefty) and from the bottom up...and so far, i like doing a row of halves and then finishing them before doing the next row. They seem a little more uniform that way, and it's easier to see the holes i think doing one row at a time. When the shameful mess is done i'll post it.Have decided that a stitch journal for the things i try(methods) is the way to go. thanks again for the help ... even the posts that were over my head technique wise gave me something to think about as i do this stuff.
