Update: My cat like Cheeto

This is a update on the fate on my young cat who looked like Cheeto. He had swallowed something and had to have surgery to remove whatever it was from the back of his nasal cavity.

Even though he made it through the surgery just fine, he had a coronary attack and died shortly after waking up.

When the mass was removed, it was determined that it was fiber-fill, like cat toys are stuffed with. He had eaten and then thrown up but it lodged in the back of his nasal cavity.

We searched the house for toys and he had carried them all over and into the most interesting places! We did find several toys with torn seams and a pillow in the guest bedroom with a chewed corner.

We miss him very much as he had so much personality but want to warn other cat owners to check their toys, pillows, cushions, etc. Though this was an unusual and rare chain of events, and involved a kitten who ate everything he saw, maybe another kitty can be saved by owners being aware of the possibility.

So sad for you, it's so hard to lose them, especially the ones with characters.

A good warning and thoughtful.

{{{Jane & Family}]]] I am SO very sorry to hear this. I can imagine how much you miss him. Thanks for posting the warning about the fiber fill in cat toys -- it is dangerous stuff, especially for kitties who will eat anything and think *everything* is a toy! Sending more hugs and tons of Kitty Kisses. CiaoMeow >^;;^<
