Webshots of my stuff

Works fine Lucille but good heaven's it is loaded with popups and ads, my system is geared against them and things were clicking madly! Somehow, as I left, it did not prevent a big ad for Smiley Central popping up - argggghhhh ! Did you do that deliberately ???? If so, may the smiles of a million smileys invade your home.

I'm so sorry about the popups and the smileys. Well, maybe I'm not so sorry about the smileys.

I should have sent the link that would take you directly to my photo album. When I used that it didn't create that much of a problem and I got out without seeing that ad. I did hear some clicks but with the beeps I lived with last night I think I've gotten so used to those sounds that it didn't have much of an effect on me.

I got a few banner thingies in Firefox saying that a popup had been blocked, but nothing actually launched for me. That's a Webshots thing, not Lucille personally, and it's part of why I've been working to move all of my pictures out of Webshots and to my own site.

They were all blocked, bar the smiley one and I knew it was webshots doing it and it was joke to say it was Lucille, she knew that perfectly well.

Right again Sheena--I did know you were kidding and I since I know how much you love smileys I think I'll add another one here

I see you've done the Chase too. I did mine 18 years ago (I dated it so I can't deny how old I am) and had great fun. It was my first reproduction sampler. However, I recently tried doing another of those Williamsburg kits - the one with the cows - and found that having the pattern of the cross stitch printed on the materials was extremely frustrating. I wanted to count threads and make things neat and I couldn't because of the printing. What did you think?

The date on mine is March, 1975, 30 years ago. Everyone here knows I've just celebrated my 69th birthday so I have no problem saying it, but it does make my voice shaky when I say it out loud. It sounds so old!!!

I do agree about the printed pattern, but when I did that sampler I had no idea that counted cross stitch existed. Nowadays, if I have any choice, I much prefer a blank fabric and a graph, even for needlepoint.

But I think it's just such an attractive piece that I stuck it on there. When I get ambitious again, I'll put some of my counted stuff on there.

I agree, The Chase is a nice piece. I have it up in the guest room so I don't see if often, but now after looking at it and at "The Farm" kit (both by Elsa Williams) I realize how cute the animals are. Once I'm done my EGA correspondence piece I think I'll go back to the kit. Maybe if I intersperse animals with the letters I won't be so frustrated! Margaret

I've been known to buy a printed XS kit, use the photo as a chart to do it on the fabric of my choice, and then donate the kit to charity, so I don't have to deal with the crooked printing.
