Amber - I'd love to know how you like working on the Big Stitch project (that's the one for your friend's birthday.) Please post to the group how it is to work on, and how it really looks finished!

I'm doing this for my 11-year-old daughter; she picked out the pattern and has been anxiously following it's progress. I hope to have it completed before school starts back up in August.

This past week, I went back to work on my silk iris jewellery bag. I did lots of ripping this week. The greens are a bit of a problem. I don't have as many shades of green as I would like or as the design recommends (7). I finally decided I need all the green I'm going to use before I decide on how to shade them. I also need another dark gold or a rust. So ca-ching, ca-ching. The bag is going to be worth more than the jewellery.

Back to my holly picture.

My Fairy Grandmother, with just the wings left, has now been put on hold because I just realized that I have 3 baby gifts to do by the end of July/beginning of Aug.! So, for baby #1 I've just started a baby blanket made with Baby Clouds yarn. Love that stuff!!!! For baby #2 I will be doing a picture of classic Pooh and Piglet walking off into the sunset, probably on a blanket or made into a pillow...haven't decided yet. Not sure about baby #3's project, yet. I *might* finish the lightswitch cover I'm half done with, just so I have *something* to enter in the fair this year! :)

Even though computer storage is dirt cheap, it's possible that Amber's ISP or news server only retains messages for 30 days in order to make room for new very important messages.

Well yes, but it doesn't mean the thread can't continue beyond 30 days though on the group ! As her server would drop some, it would show and retain the newer posts in that thread.

Don't really know, whenever I try to respond to individual posts older than 30 days, it gives me this message:

'You can't reply to this post because it is older than 30 days, or it has been closed by an administrator.'

If you go to a subject with posts newer and older than 30 days old, I can only respond to the newer ones.

If the last post of a thread is over 30 days old, the thread is 'closed'. Still there, just that the posts cannot be answered.

I think the OP was right - your ISP does that, they can't keep everything for too long or new stuff would get dropped. The lifetime in a binary group is even shorter.

As far as posters in rctn though, I don't think they care how long a thread drags on, some have gone on and on and on lol

As a matter of interest, I am going to go back and answer an old post and see what happens to me. Then we will know something lol

I answered one of your posts from March - so we know two things now, it's either your server or your news reader. I use Agent to read usenet and probably could go further back except I lost some stuff when I upgraded to the latest build recently.

Thanks for that, I figured it had something to do with my computer. I'll just have to do the best I can. I'm mostly a lurker. If I'm tired while responding to posts sometimes I automatically write Danish, and usually catch myself and translate before i send it lol. Amazng tho, with technology, we are able to communicate this way. Btw, if anyone s up for a live chat, I know somewhere where there is a chatroom that is always empty, accessible 24 hours a day.

"Summer Carousel" by TW. It will be made into a pillow to match "SpringCarousel" which resides on the bed in the guest bedroom in Maine. Also working on a tallit cover for my grandson.

Shoreline Stitchers recently had their first Stitchers' Showcase (I entered "Beethoven Forever" and "Spirit Woman") and there was a number of entries of tallit covers and other Judaic pieces. Just stunning!!!

I'm still working on TW's "Carousel" on Lugana 25 PictureThisPlus' "Carnival." Close to half way now.

Finished the latch hook on "Springtime Charlie Brown" on Thursday and got the canvas trimmed and turned back on Friday. Hope to get the binding sewn on today. Started on the next latch hook (featuring Woodstock but don't remember the name) also. Would have done more but spent the afternoon in Cleveland at the Wheel of Fortune auditions. No, they didn't draw my name. :-(

I'll post some more WIP pictures later today to Kodak. Follow the "Stitching" link from
