Who was it from South Africa?

Nov 12, 2005 22 Replies

This is not OT - I`m trying to track down an old friend who was/is the cross stitch editor for one of the South African Needlecraft magazines. Pease contact me if you can just give me some of the Magazine titles. As I recall, she was near Durban. (Just remove the "NOSPAM from my address).

I can`t remember your name, and can`t find your post now!

Thanks.

Pat P

I honestly can`t remember - I know she posted yesterday, but for some reason it just won`t show up, even when I switch to "show all messages". I don`t THINK it was Joyce.

I`ve tried Googling for needlecraft magazines in South Africa, hoping that I`d recognise the name of the one with which my friend was, or probably still is, cross stitch editor. HER name is Ina Dandridge and she used to post her occasionally, many years ago. Oh - I suppose I might find her with a Googlr search of rctn, perhaps. I`ll nip off and try it.

Pat P

Is this the lady you wanted?? I googled, and came uo with her.

Thanks, Gill, but it was Catherine Milton - Mavia spotted it for me. Thanks all the same. I tried googling and didn`t find a thing! Just off to bed - gone midnight. It`s been a lovely sunny day - and it wasn`t supposed to be! Scotland and Wales have had horrendous weather this past few days - hurricane force winds in Shetland.

Thanks again!

Love

Pat

Wow, what did I do to deserve this attention?? Pat, what did you google and come up with nothing?

Catherine In South Africa.

RCTN archives! I probably got on the wrong trail, somehow, and in any case was interrupted.

Thanks for getting back to me,

Pat P

Hi, Someone asked here about a lady from South Africa and I remembered having seen your post yesterday. I searched for it and sent it. Don't know if it was useful or not but as I don't belong to the inner circle I got no reaction. Never mind. Sofia D

Consider yourself lucky. Belonging to the inner circle just means that you're in multiple killfiles.

Elizabeth (definitely inner circle)

I wonder how many killfiles I'm in! not that I worry about such things!

Cheryl

Sorry Sofia - I thought I`d thanked you for your help, but it must have got lost in the deluge of posts I`d made on the subject. Still haven`t found my friend, but I`ll keep trying!

Pat P

Nice and polite as usual. You must be a sad lady if you get your kicks insulting people. It's an honour not to belong to such sisterhood. Sofia D

Wow, you took that very differently than I meant it. I didn't mean to insult you at all. I was poking fun at how we get along around here and meant to be funny in an ironic sort of way. I'm sorry that I missed my mark with that.

Elizabeth

Ooops! My turn to apologise if I took it in a different way of the one intended. I like funny and ironic too. No harm done though. Sometimes my little foot likes to get in my big mouth too.

No problem at all and good luck.

I`m sure my daughter had some chocolate COLOURED nail polish amongst her many varied shades. I remember it because it looked totally revolting! Yeuk!
