I know I've been MIA for what seems an eternity!!! I've skimmed most of the messages, I've been reading but not posting; just haven't had time. Welcome to all the newbies, happy birthday to the Birthday folks. Tammy, I'm so sorry about your friend's dog I can't imagine how you feel. Kate, you sure put allot of time into looking for the embellishment box. It's too bad she didn't do the right thing. Chrissy, your Dad and Uncle are in my thoughts and prayers. Sandy, the Kimono looked wonderful but the model is adorable!!! Amanda, congrats on the baby!!!! I know you two are excited! Dave, I'm so sorry you are having such a bad time, I so understand. Keep your chin up, and know that I'm here if you need to talk. And you're going to Cairo?!?!?!?!???? I wonder if I could fit into one of the boxes????!!!!??? M-C you did a wonderful thing with the fundraiser! You are a very special woman!!! {{{BIG HUGS}}}

I have been making a couple of cards a week to send to DS#1. Though last week I was feeling so frazzled I pulled out a card that was left over from 2 Easter's ago! LOL Let him see our white rabbit again! heehee I so need to get some scrapping done. I still have NOT started on the 2 page LO's for my Aunt, all 8 sets still need to be done. They only need them in 2 weeks! OH my I really need to get moving, just can't get motivated.

All is well at our house, DS#1 has been busy with AIT, will graduate on the

15th of Nov. He'll then come home for 20 days, get married and then go to Korea. DS#2 has been promoted to an officer in JROTC at school, he's also Color Guard Commander. He's ready to take his driving test but I need to get DH motivated to get a little car for DS to drive around. Speaking of cars, DH bought me a 2008 Ford Escape!!!! It's red metallic in color, I love it, but miss my van. The van was SOOOO comfortable. However, the Escape is more economical for us at this point as I'm on the road allot. He traded in his truck as it was on it's last leg and was in need of a transmission and a number of other items. DH is now driving the van. Since he gave up Manland he is "manning up" the van! ROFL!!!!!

Melissa has a job!!!!! YEAH!!!! She finally got on with Michael's. She's seasonal help but we can cross our fingers and hope that they want to keep her on afterward. She has also finally passed the written test so she now has her learner's permit to learn to drive. She will now get a crash course, no pun intended, in driving so that she has a license in about 6 weeks. I need to have my knee looked at again and the dr. said that next time I come in he's going to schedule me to have it scoped & I won't be able to drive her to work for a while. So, she has to get driving; that and she probably won't get time off to go see DS#1 graduate and I'll be upset if she isn't driving and I have to stay home to schlep her skinny butt around. I told her that and she just looked at me and said, "I didn't think of that".

Speaking of my knee. It SUCKS!!!! I am exhausted all the time from the pain. It hangs up and when I try to extend it it will lock up then make a really loud POP when it releases. To make it worse, I tripped on over our elderly dog the other night. The more I tried to not step on him the more I stepped on him. I finally ended up landing on the floor, bad knee first. DS#2 came down the hallway with a horrified look on his face. He called my Dad to come over and the 2 of them helped me up. my Dad picked up Melissa from work, and put me to bed with the bags of ice. It's better now but it still hurts. It's amazing what kind of pain one can get used to.

C> I need to have my knee looked at again and the dr. said that next

If it's something that's going to be long term, or even intermittently over a long period of time, you might check with your doctor to see if s/he would OK you for hand controls & your DMV to see what the requirements are. That way as long as sitting for as long as it takes to get from point A to point B wasn't an issue, you could still drive. Hand controls take a little practice, but aren't difficult to use.

Alicia

Geesh, and I thought I was lost in action too!!! It does seem so often more than not that GOOD helping people are the ones who have the most trials and tribulations, but as a believer I know why! It makes it hard but what is ever so much more important is having truly believng, understanding and wonderful people like those here in RCS!!!

Hang in there Kenda and tell DH hi from me!!

((hugs!))

Wow...busy busy bee. It is good to hear that she is has a job now and is not in your hair all day. But I do have to agree with Shannon- Discount :) but I'm sure you have already thought of that :) I'm sorry to hear about your knee. I understand. I have arthritis so I have knee problems all the time. It seems to just impair you completely. Hopefully the doctor can determine the main cause for your pain and get started fixing you. At least give you some better pain medicine. I will have you in my thoughts.

~Crystal

LOL I've already asked! Heehee, I'm so bad! The only thing I realy want is the cricut cartridges, and I'm not sure she'll get a discount on those, haven't asked.

Thanks Alicia. Thank you for the idea on the hand controls for the vehicle, though at this point in time I don't think that will be necessary. However, I will keep the idea in mind.

You are such a dear Dave!!! I just keep telling myself that this too shall pass! DH said hi back! {{hugs}}

The only thing is that she's at work after DS#2 comes home from school, though he's old enough he doesn't want to hang out with mom and dad! LOL The knee is from a botched surgery, can't be fixed until I'm old enough for a replacement. Though the new doc said he'd want to go in and look to see if he could clean it up a bit. I know that more cartilidge has broken loose and is floating around, I can feel that. Thank you for you thoughts Crystal.

I wondered if I was going to have to go searching for you. LOL I'm glad you were able to resurface from under all the taxi-ing you've been doing along with everything else a mom & wife does.

And your new Escape is puurrrrtyyy. I'm glad DH bought you a new vehicle. It certainly is more economical than the van! Of course, I think my DH's "rolling death trap" may be more economical than the van! LOL That's too funny that DH is manning up the van. You should do a before/after LO of the van! ROFL

I'm so glad Melissa has a job and finally passed her written test! Yay! I know I keep saying it, but hang in there with her. You're having to reprogram 18 years of bad programming with her. Hang in there. There's nothing wrong with being honest with her, either if/when she starts to go back to what she's grown up with. Remember I'm here whenever you need to vent, cry, or just need a break from everything!

Kenda it looks like you have a lot on your plate right now. Congrats to Melissa for getting a job and her learner's permit. Enjoy the new vehicle. I hope the new doctor can help your knee and the pain. Hang in there.
