Catching Up

It's 2 am and I'm sitting at my trusty ole computer while everyone else in the house is asleep. With the exception of my 7 month old grandson who is teething and running a fever that hovers between 101 to 103. His mom went to the movies with her sister to see the new Twilight movie so I'm here babysitting. But I have a lot to catch up on with you all so it's been nice too.

A lot has happened in the past few weeks. I really appreciate all the prayers and good thoughts to my husbands family when his brother-in-law died. We were fortunate enough to get to go to Minnesota for the funeral and spend a few days with his family. However we came home to three sick kids and wouldn't ya know, I got it too. I'm finally feeling better but now DH is coming down with it. Poor thing.

Last Monday we welcomed the latest addition to our family - Annabella Kimberly arrived at 11:22 am weighing 6 lbs. 14 ozs. and 20 in long. I was there to help with the delivery too because DD decided she wanted to push that baby out before she was dilated enough. The nurse told her not to push and well that was just the wrong thing to say. She was still waiting for the anesthesiologist to come in and do her epidural, who incidentally never made it. So yeah I'm a bit guilty of taking a little pleasure in her pain and suffering. It should teach her to be a bit more cooperative and not so stinking stubborn. lol. Now we're waiting on Austin Gary to make his appearance. If he hasn't arrived before the 24th DDIL will be induced so he will probably be born on the 25th. So I have a pink quilt and a blue quilt to make now. Woohoo!!

Which brings up the next topic. Quilts!!! Quilts!!! and more Quilts!!! I have almost got my quilt studio arranged so that I can start quilting again. It's down to the nitpicky stuff that I know where I want to put it but can't find a place for it, if you know what I mean. I'm so excited though. I've got so much more room than I had at the other house and it's bright and cheery and I love it. After I get the new baby's quilts done I have so many ideas for other stuff to do. My DD has decided to learn how to quilt too and I showed her how to cut out the blocks for a quilt for her oldest son. Now I need to show her how to sew them together, matching seams and stuff.

I need to see if I can get this kid to bed now. I just wanted to pop in and say hi and catch up with everyone and let you all know that I've been thinking about you and holding you all close in my heart and prayers.

Hugs, Kim

It's good to see you, Kim, though I'm sorry you're awake at such an awful hour. :S Congratulations on all of the new little ones and on your quilt studio -- have loads of fun working in there. :)

Yikes, I remember the tales of that in the group... Hehehehe... No, it doesn't seem like 21 years. I think the GMNT is the only official minor we still have, isn't he? And to think we met at an age younger than Eleanor is now...
