Catching up

I have been gone for 10 days and can't catch up on all the news from the group. Hugs and cheers for all those who need them. If I've missed anything that I should know....repost or send me an email! Thanks KJ

Welcome home to all our snow! Our snowblower quit working this morning, and DH and I just finished shoveling almost the whole drive and sidewalks by hand - then our neighbor came out and said he'd finish it up. Whew!

So how was the trip to Florida? Tell us all about your quilt shop finds!

I'm glad I got in just before the storm hit! DH is out clearing the driveway and walks now. I left just before any of the snow and cold started last week, so this is the first snow/cold I've seen yet this winter! We stopped in Paducah on the way to Florida. We went to the museum, just missed seeing Caryl Fallert's studio (it closed at 4), then closed down Hancock's at 5. Not a lot of time to poke around there, but we did manage to find some sale fabrics (Kaffe Fasset). The only other quilt shop we stopped at on the way was "Little Quilts" near Atlanta. That's a lovely shop! We did stop in the local shop in Naples (can't remember the name) and it also had some nice things. I have to admit that I don't hold a candle to Jeanne's shopping experiences. The Florida weather was nice. It was starting to get rather hot to my liking, so it was a good time to come home. I'm not much of a beach person....too close a resemblance to a whale I guess!!! I'm glad to be home...but not excited about the laundry chores for the day! KJ

KJ! Welcome home! Read about your "stash building" - you make us so proud! So, now to the important stuff...... what kind of wonderful food did ya eat while in the south? Any hush puppies? Sweetened iced tea? Catfish? Key lime pie?

No hush puppies or sweet iced tea. Sorry to disappoint you! We didn't eat out all that much. However, we did eat at a couple small bistros that were nice. We also ate at "The Melting Pot" fondue restaurant. It was something I'd never done before! Pricey, yet fun and quite tasty. KJ
