Back and playing catch up

Trying to catch up with everything that has been going on in the group. Not easy to do when you haven't been able to read for a couple of weeks. First it was because I was visiting my new little niece, then after she was discharged, she ended up back into the hospital with major breathing problems (still don't know why) and I had my nephew here for 5 days, then I got sick with a head cold. When I finally had the time and was feeling better, my ISP's news server was having issues (they said they weren't, but they were!!) so I still couldn't read anything. Finally that appears to be working again and I have way too much to catch up on. I'm not able to get any of the messages from before and during the server issues, so we'll see just how much reading I do in Google.

Congrats and happy dances to those finishing quilts (or any other project), and my prayers and positive vibes for those who need them.

You don't have to read it all, Charlotte. We've been fairly quiet. Busy quilting I would hope except, of course, for John and his defense with a nail gun. Some of us are suffering from Paducah missing syndrome and pity parties abound. I've been wondering this - is it possible that the wee new babe has some sort of allergy that caused the breathing problems? Maybe something like goat's milk or soy would be better? We've had some true allergy experts here and they could address the question better than I but perhaps it's worth considering. Polly

I am by no means going to read them all!! I am just going to try to get an idea of some of the things that happened while I was away. And also see if I missed any good on topic conversations that could help improve my quilting.

As to the niece, I just don't know. So far she is still doing great. She is on monitors, and will be for the next couple of months, and is still not back up to her birth weight but she is doing just great otherwise. When they weren't getting any results from the blood tests that indicated a bacterial or viral cause I guess one of the things they wondered was her formula. They watched her really closely when they started weaning her off her IV and back to a bottle. Wasn't it. I don't know all the causes they explored or considered. Unfortunately, all my info has been 3rd and at times 4th hand info. (don't ask) so who knows how much of it I'm getting and if it is still accurate by the time I get it. Hopefully I will talk to DSis the end of the week and perhaps even get to baby sit so she can get some sleep. My mom said that DNiece has her days and nights mixed up and DNephew won't let DSis nap during the day. Grandma (my mom) took over this weekend so she got some sleep then. By the end of the week she'll be ready for another break I'm sure.
