Wouldn't this be fun to own?

If I had some spare money around, I'd LOVE to get this!

At the moment, the price of the shipping exceeds the price of the bid.

It looks like it would be well worth it, and I just got a new credit card, so I'm going to contemplate this for a while, and see what the bidding gets up to as the closing date nears.

Um, you would tell your DH that you and I are splitting both the contents and the cost?

Since you're such a good cataloguer, we'll have them ship it to you, you can tell me what we got, and I can send back my "shopping list".

And Jim is urging me to buy it; he says that I have told him "One can never have enough floss" . I will watch it, and see where it goes. Think of the fun I would have selling it on Ebay and Quins, as well as fondling it!!

That's why I'm waiting till the end.

At a library silent auction, Susi and I bid up one needlework book to well over the cover price before Susi pointed out "I earn more than you, I will outbid you at any price" and promised to give me the book when she was done with the project she wanted to make.

The next year, we decided that rather than bidding against each other all afternoon, we would simply hover near the book we both wanted and see if we were bidding against a third person. Since we only actually bid in the last 5 minutes, we didn't have time to bid it up too ridiculously.

No point in you, me and Joan bidding it up a dollar every 5 minutes for the next 5 days when we can all descend on it January 2 and only get it up to $50 instead of $500. ;)

Fun to own? Not THIS kid. I won't live long enough to sort it, let alone use one tenth of that floss.

anne raises her hand --- that's more than a bit excessive unless the stuff is being hand delivered the day after the bidding closed.

Or would you WANT one who quibbled at what you`d got!!! LOL!

Now I thought the silk floss lot would look particularly nice here at home... or at least bits of it.

I'll go in on the original, but not the silk one.

A friend who is an experienced eBay seller tells me that they probably had a reserve bid of at least $200. Which is still just 16c per card.

As I said, I'll wait till just before closing and put in a single bid, rather than bidding it up.

I have bought and sold a fair amount on Ebay. if there is a Reserve amount, it is posted on the item. Not the actual figure, just the fact that there is a Reserve, and the bidding has, or has not, reached the Reserve.

I guess you and I will be fighting at the end, right Karen?? I have a max amount in my mind, so we will see.

Joan, if you DARE to lick it while you're cataloging it for distribution, I will kill you.
