Glaze on kiln brick

Nov 21, 2003 1 Replies

I had a glaze load that came out of the kiln today and when I opened the kiln lid I saw the sad sight of a vase that had fallen off it's stilts (don't ask me how). Anyways, it fell right onto the side wall of the kiln and now there is a spot of glaze on one of the bricks. Is there anything I should or need to do? LMac

If this is a soft brick Kiln, use a knife and gently prise it off; it could eat into the brick. I've had drips of glaze eat into the floor of a kiln!
