Lovely looking glazes, I am looking forward to getting into reduction glazing with a gas kiln I am going shares in with some friends. Went to a potters conference the weekend just gone. One of the demonstrators was Greg Daly

Am wondering why you have those faces inside the bowls. What is their intended purpose?

That square thing built up of something like bricks. Kewl!

How did you make the patterns on slide 17 and 18? Rollers?

And why is the party pot called that? Because you bumped the edge during a party? ;-)

Thanks for showing your stuff, Steve!

LOVE that red glaze! I suppose there is no chance of getting that color with normal firing, huh?

~~~ it's normal for ME! well, reduction fire does fun things. that's a tenmoku base glaze with a rutile "jensen red" glaze on top. reduction really kicks it in. i got some pieces with red on one side, a kewl blue on the other where reduction was different.
~~~i'm about to do some composit pieces with basketwork &/or beadwork on the rim of the bowl. some will get indian dream catcher designs added to the rim. the idea of a face inside a dream catcher bowl is intriguing to me.

~~~fun to build - but they get HEAVY! so this batch is also sawdust clay. the pieces are distinctly lighter.
~~~yes - i'm adicted to texture....

~~~ i made it for a friend of mine. her idea was for a sangria pot, and she's not a thrower. so, i threw the pot, and she can't take it home until she comes over & breaks in the *party pot*. she says she has several recipies...
