Need help - JoAnn's (slightly OT)

Here's the deal:

I am working on a log cabin with a twist for my son. He chose the fabric and it isn't all 100% cotton (a first for me, but it is working okay)

The problem is I didn't get enough of two of the fabrics. I have been to every JoAnn's in the Houston area and one in OKC, and one in Denver and JoAnn.com trying to get a half a yard more of this fabric:

Posh Polyester Lining

Machine wash warm, no chlorine bleach. Tumble dry medium, cool iron. Made in Japan.

  • 100% Polyester * 45" wide

I need the colors Russet and Tobacco.

If you are lucky? enough to be close to a JoAnn's, could you do a looksy for me? The fabric is only $2.99. In every JoAnn's I have been in the posh lining was located with the specialty fabric close to the Casa Collection.

I will reimburse for the fabric and the shipping and bless you with a fat quarter of your choice!! or color choice!

I'm desperate. I can't finish this quilt without it.

Thanks. You can see the UFO at

If you could help, I'd truly appreciate it. There could even be some chocolate involved in the thanks.

Hey Trisha, it looks awesome! lots of work! If you have the sku number from the bolt or your receipt, Joann's should be able to order it for you, and even get it in pretty quick. They will order it for you, even if you only need a small amount. I recently ordered 2 different fabric items and they came in within a week or so. Good luck. Teri

I didn't realize they would order an entire 2 bolts when all I want is

1/2 yard of each fabric! But, I can call and ask but the very helpful lady in Sugarland's JoAnn's looked in her big notebook to see if it was something they carried regularly but just happened to be out of -- she couldn't even find it in the book. Those two colors - russet and tobacco were not listed with the other posh linings. So, I think they have been discontinued. I think my only hope is finding some that hasn't sold in another JoAnn's. That is why I thought of you guys. But, I will call and ask about ordering them.

Thanks, Larisa for look> Hey Trisha,

Sure, it's not my design -- It comes from Log Cabin with a Twist by Barbara T. Kaempfer

The color choices were my son's. I was very skeptical about this quilt when it got started. I haven't been quilting all that long (August

2002)and he picked these two, plus 2 more fabrics that aren't even cotton and all the fabrics are solids! No, prints. And one of the fabrics is suede! But it is turning out beautiful. Hey, ya'll taught me

-- there are no quilt police!!

I can't wait to see it finished and since I have the flash fixed on my camera maybe the photo of the finished quilt will be more true to the actual colors.

Good luck with the guild challenge.

Tricia, I am going to Joplin to JoAnn's today. And I will be more than glad to look for your fabric! I adore treasure hunts.

Cindy>glad I saw this before rather than after my trip.

HI Tricia, Your photo came out very orange because of the lighting you shot it in. Did you use a flash? If not look on your camera and see if you can choose the type of light, ie tungsten (light bulb), flourescent, halogen etc. This will change the colors. If you choose flourescent, sometimes the color will be cooler toward the blue. YOu can also choose to use the White Balance and that will equalize all the colors.

I also scoured the JoAnns yesterday (after combing through the limited supply of apparel fabrics at my LQS) and there was absolutely nothing in those colros. I even looked at the other lines of lining fabric...zilch! Wish I could have been more help.
