Warm & Natural at JoAnn's

Back when I lived in Miami, JoAnn's was convenient, and they mailed a flyer to the house every month or so. I shopped there often.

We moved up here; they're now quite a ways away; I don't like them, and I can't stay on their mailing list. I don't know if they even have one anymore. I don't know how many years ago it was that I bought 20 yards of Warm & Natural batting from them. It's 90" wide, and it lasted me a good long time. Didn't matter that I find them somewhere between stupid and dishonest, it was worth it to me to wait for their half off sale and take care of my batting needs for years to come.

With the next quilt I baste, I'll be out of batting. I'd always planned to buy another 20 yards when the time came. Now I'm wondering if that's the best plan. I know I like the product. But is this still the smartest way to buy it? Could someone notify me when they have a big sale? Or do they still do that? I know there are supposed to be coupons that can be printed off the web, but I've never done that. Can I be sure that the JoAnn's in my neck of the woods (northeast) will honor the coupon?

Once before, I saw that they had a good sale on rulers, got all the way out there, and learned that the sale wasn't on the rulers I wanted. It said all rulers in the ad, but they pulled the bait and switch-- or tried to. I didn't buy anything and vowed never to go back. Except it would be worth it to get a good deal on batting. I just don't want to get screwed like that again.

You can order a bolt online from JoAnn's at the sale price . Shipping may be less than driving to get it if you live very far away. I've only ordered from joann.com once, but was satisfied with the service.

I have been buying W & N from Joanne's by the bolt when they I get the

50% discount coupon in the mail. Usually 2 or 3 times a year. I also have gone up to the store with a 40% coupon in hand looking to buy a particular item and have been told that that item is not for coupon sale. I hate that. To be fair though, often the things I want are already on sale for the 40% discount, so I guess it works out the same, either way. There are now many internet sites that I frequent for discounts on specific items, so I am not always at the mercy of Joanne's.

RE: Joann's. I only went there once, they aren't real close to where we live. I thought the store was nice, and the coupon was great, but there were a *lot* of shoppers that day and only two people on the floor working. One at the register and one cutting fabric. New continents could have formed before I got my fabric cut, stood in line to pay for it. I don't "wait" very well. Maybe that's not the norm for that store, but I figured I was too impatient to shop there.

over to the left of their homepage is a spot where you can sign up to get their flyers via email (including coupons!) ..... since they don't lose any $$ in mailing costs, they never take you off their list unless you unsubscribe :-) You can also check out their store flyers online, too, to see what's currently on sale.

Sherry, I worked at the local TSWLTH for nearly 10 years.... you think YOU didn't like the situation - think about the H#!! those sales gals were going through!!!! It's downright frustrating for them, too... and it wasn't their fault that more salespeople weren't scheduled. Sometimes those who make out the schedules don't use their heads OR they have only so many total hours to schedule (based on rulings from their district bosses). ....not to mention the piles of bolts of fabrics that REALLY need to be put back on the shelves - and heaven-help-them if they need to use the restroom!

.....and if they are in the middle of both a big sale AND an inventory! BTDT

After I retired, I made the gals at the local store one of those "dammit dolls" - they really got a kick out of it - and I've had to replace it since then as the poor thing was all shreds from the workout it got. ME-Judy

Oooopsie - what I meant was - on the left side of their homepage there is a place where you can click on "Weekly Sales Flyer" -- THAT will take you to a different website for the store flyers. That's where you can sign up to get notice of their newest sales/flyer AND coupons. Sorry about the poor directions in my earlier msg. ME-Judy
