Back when I lived in Miami, JoAnn's was convenient, and they mailed a flyer to the house every month or so. I shopped there often.
We moved up here; they're now quite a ways away; I don't like them, and I can't stay on their mailing list. I don't know if they even have one anymore. I don't know how many years ago it was that I bought 20 yards of Warm & Natural batting from them. It's 90" wide, and it lasted me a good long time. Didn't matter that I find them somewhere between stupid and dishonest, it was worth it to me to wait for their half off sale and take care of my batting needs for years to come.
With the next quilt I baste, I'll be out of batting. I'd always planned to buy another 20 yards when the time came. Now I'm wondering if that's the best plan. I know I like the product. But is this still the smartest way to buy it? Could someone notify me when they have a big sale? Or do they still do that? I know there are supposed to be coupons that can be printed off the web, but I've never done that. Can I be sure that the JoAnn's in my neck of the woods (northeast) will honor the coupon?
Once before, I saw that they had a good sale on rulers, got all the way out there, and learned that the sale wasn't on the rulers I wanted. It said all rulers in the ad, but they pulled the bait and switch-- or tried to. I didn't buy anything and vowed never to go back. Except it would be worth it to get a good deal on batting. I just don't want to get screwed like that again.
