I glazed a pot at Cone 6, but am not happy with the matte finish. I would like to put a clear gloss over top and refire the pot. However, I am having a hard time getting the glaze to cover. I heated the pot in my oven, but that didn't really work.
Does anyone have any suggestions on how best to reglaze?

You can add some white karo syrup to some glaze. Heating usually helps, especially if the glaze is thick enough. Maybe you didn't heat the pot enough or your glaze was too thin Unless this is a special pot, you're better off just making another one, especially since you don't know what another glaze on top will do.

Make another pot and use another glaze... I'm serious. Unless the form is something that you are dieing to keep it isn't worth the aggravation, time, effort, cost, etc. Besides your tastes may change and you may find yourself loving this glaze some time in the future. IMO DK
Mix glaze a bit thicker than usual ( some bentonite helps too) and add Epsom salts. It will just thicken it, not change properties of the glaze. It works for me. be careful as it can react with the glaze under and become quite runny. maybe don't apply close to the foot.
And I think it is worth doing. Experimenting and questioning is always good. Have an open mind about the expected result. I'd be interested to hear how did it turn out. I often superimpose mat&gloss glazes and love the textures. good luck, Andrea
