A funny thing happened on the way to a fabric order....

I just scored a Singer 15K electric, manufactured in 1948. The machine is in excellent condition with all the attachments. The cabinet is nothing to write home about. They replaced the old oak one with something more "modern" in the late 50s. Paid $20 for it.

L>I haven't picked it up yet, but it's another Singer 127. The head isn't in

YES, well, go to that page, and follow the link to postal supplies, and then Global, and there IS a box for under four pounds listed on page 2.

Now I was shipping these in 2003: apparently the larger box option has bitten the dust, but the one that would have served for Jo's order is still there in 2006. And the rate to the UK would be about $10.00 so there.

Sorry Irene. It doesn't say it's flat rate like the flat rate envelopes do, and the rate calculator only offers flat rates for the envelopes as well. Also the rate tables for mailing to the UK only mention the flat rate envelopes and pricing by weight for GPM:

I did do a Google search for global priority flat rate box, and did find a couple pages, not on usps.com, describing such an option, but the most recently updated of those pages dates back to the fall of

2003.

So the USPS used to offer flat rate GPM boxes, but they don't now.

I hope you don't see this as being argumentative. I'm just hoping to save you and everyone else shipping out of the US a bit of trouble & frustration.
