A little under the weather, no FQs please :)

Hi all! I managed to get up to the computer twice today yippee! I somehow have managed to throw out my back while helping the daughter move things into the dorm room. It was funny, something told me to put the microwave down NOW right outside the building's door, and when I did, I couldn't straighten back up. Poor daughter, waiting inside with an even heavier load for me to come in and I had to wait awhile before I could grab the box again. Tried to pretend I was just looking for something while I held the door open for some other students.. uhh huh.. cool me. lol Well anyway, it IS getting better. I'm taking some advil and am NOT doing anything that hurts.. well more than once. It sort of hurts to sit, and hurts to stand, but in between is okay! So I am doing as little as possible and will not be posting too much for a few days. In my inimitable fashion, I have managed to compound this by having the worst head cold in my last 10 years. So I am a red nosed scrunched up old woman right now. I know I must look really bad because my DD who is VERY careful with her own money, actually took me out to eat, HER treat! woohoo! She might grow up to be a real grown-up someday! Seriously, I'm fine and will be finer soon. Just wanted to let you all know, in case someone wonders why that Elena gal ain't been posting much. Also, if I missed anything addressed to me, please email me and I will get back to you. I sure don't mean to ignore anyone here. Have fun and I will be SEEing ( Mom Eyes ) y'all here and there for the next little while. Be good!

So sorry to hear this Elena. There's not a lot you can do in that middle position, is there?! This is going to sound ridiculous, I know; but one of the best positions to relax in this situation is to assume a 'sitting position on the floor', where you back is flat on the floor, your bottom is close up to the front of an armchair and your lower legs (from knee to feet) are on the seat of the chair. You do need help to get there!! and help to get back up! but it is a wonderful release for your back muscles - there is no strain on any of them. You just have to remember those right angles

- at hips and knees. Finally, be very careful if you are still sneezing. . In article , Elena writes

Hi Patti! Thank you for the position suggestion. Maybe I can whine enough to get a wireless keyboard and mouse to surf from there? lol I am getting better, it's mostly just any leaning forward that gives me fits now. ( How I messed it up in the first place. ) Sneezing is okay, it's the blowing the nose that really makes me stand still for a few minutes and breathe. That may be TMI, I'm sorry.

Elena, vowing to actually do some back exercises so I will be better from now on.

I just wanted to thank all of you who replied to my post. It does make me feel loved, which helps me heal faster, I am convinced. This group is just the greatest, and I can't wait to get back in the swing of things (just not heavy things) :)
