Like many people I love the looking at the stars at night wondering how farthey are and if there is any life on a planet nearby. One of my favouritepaintings is the starry starry night painting by Vincent van Gogh which iswhy the swap bears this name JTime line:v Signup by March 1st 2007 by joining the following yahoo group:Ø And entering your name and the number of sets you HOPE to send ininto the participants database. Remember that the number of sets you enterinto the data base is not set in stone and you can adjust the numbers as youget closer to the day. It's only final once it's in the mail.v Mailing deadline May 31stØ this is the final day to get your blocks in the mail!v The blocks will be swapped in the third week of Junev The blocks will be put in the mail by the last week of Junev The blocks will start arriving home in the first week of JulyThe block method, size and number:v We will be making 6" FINISHED = 6 ½ inch UNFINISHED starsv you may use any method to make the stars but please if you are doingappliqué make sure it's firmly fixed with no raw edges showingv The stars will be swapped in sets of 6 stars. All stars in each setwill be the same.v There is a minimum of 1 set and a maximum of 6 setsv For each set sent in you will receive 6 different stars back.Colours to use:v Each set MUST be completely made with different fabrics but the starpattern may be the same if you choose.v The colour for the stars is anything between pale yellow and orangev The background is anything from medium blue to blackThings to remember:v Stars that are not 6 ½ inches will be returned un-swappedv Stars that are not well made (seams coming undone etc.) will not beswapped out.v Attach a slip of paper to the back of each block with yourname/location so the recipients can see where their block came from. This iseasily done by sewing them on with a large stitch.v Please to apply sticker nametags...

I made it from an RCTQ exchange in, hmmm, maybe 2000. Maybe 2001.

Jessamy, do the stars need to be machine sewn, or can they be hand sewn?

the stars may be hand sewn if you prefer :-) I have had swappers in the past do so and I have yet had any problems with them :-)
