After a 'very' long absence here due to health concerns I am hopefullyback. I have so missed being here too. I looked at some oldermessages I kept and discovered it has been close to 2 years since Iposted here. So much has happened. So good and some not so good. Theimportant thing however is that I am still alive and kickin' and DH(Jerry) is still alive. He still has a lot of very good days wherethe Alzheimer's doesn't seem to be so bad. My own health has stabalized a great deal, though I spent the summerflat on my back. I am up and walking again and back in physicaltherapy 3x a week. Over the last year I have lost over 70 pounds(gained back 10) and am thinner than ever. Quilting wise being on my back in bed I have been very busy. I havecompleted several WIP's and have one on the hoop now that I am handquilting. It is a Grandmother's Flower Garden (king size). This isdefinitely a quilt that can be done when you have to lay in bed. Ialso have a log cabin (queen size) that is ready to quilt. I willstart the hand quilting on it as soon as I finish the GFG. However the grandist quilty thing that I have had happen is theenlargement of my fabric stash. Three weeks ago I had the opportunityto purchase a portion of a fabric stash from a family member who'sgrandmother was a quilter. Grandma passed away and the family isgetting ready to sell her many possessions. This includes her fabricstash. This woman had 2 very large bed rooms wall to wall infabrics!!!! One room was quilting fabrics. To make the story veryshort my fabric stash went from about 1200 yards to over 4500 yards offabric! I am up to my eyeballs in the most delicious fabricsimaginable. On top of all that I was able to get an entire new boltof Warm and natural (30 yards) for $10.00. This 3300 yards of fabriccost me the grand total of $400. DH gave it to me as an earlyChristmas present. My sister who is getting ready to retire and knewa good thing when she sees it went last week and...

Goooood Luck! My "closet" needs to be reorganized (again). Seems the fabric that I want at the time is ALWAYS in the middle of the pile - and after a bit of "pulling out" those once-neatly stacked piles get all wonky and mixed up again Enjoy the fondling part -- the fabrics won't go away.... in fact, I've suspected that they secretly multiply!

The stash is a deterent from my stitching to be sure. Today I plan on taking out at least 2 stacks and evenly folding them. I want everyting to look just so. This will also give me a chance to place each fabrics location in my brain so I can 'hope' to find it when I want to use it.
