best discovery from my machine quilting lesson

Elizabeth Spannring provided us with all these preprinted 8x11 muslin templates to test different types of MQ in her 'beyond stippling' class. she said to bring any dark thread for those samples, so I brought a couple of half used spools of Stars. my MQ was kind of clunky and I was getting frustrated, so I started to test other samples I had: Madeira polyneo, and two thinner cottons: mettler silk finish and some aurifil the woman next to me let me try. Oh my Gosh! The difference was amazing! for some reason, all of a sudden I was able to follow the lines smoothly, and my MQ looked a lot more professional! I am practicing most of the ones she suggested on my 2005 RCTQ BOM. Will post close ups soon!

Pat,

I like both, but Aurifil goes on and on like the Energizer bunny.
