Bring in the clowns

Here is one I have just finished. It is placed on the bed for display purposes. It was made to be used as a "winter" quilt as it is heavier than other other quilts we have, and larger in size that either of them that are used for the more temperate months. This should remedy the eternal tug of war that takes place on cold winter nights. It will spend most of it's daylight life, folded over the quilt rack at the foot of the bed. It is called Clown Quilt, and I think it should be used with a squeeze bulb horn fixed to the headboard. It is certainly colorful, but as it will be used in a darkened room, it shouldn't be too jarring, when seen folded over the quilt rack at the foot of the bed. I wanted to use up some of the bold primary colored solids that I have, so, there you go. I am designing a more subtle quilt in greens that will be of the same heavier weight, that will be used on the bed as a bedspread. All references to clowning around in bed, will be forgiven.

Size: 92" x 92", 4 patch made of 3' squares, 1" sashing, border made of 2" colored strips.

Very pretty! I love the graphic nature of it!

As for clowning around in bed.... won't go there except to ask how you might use the squeeze bulb horn on the headboard?

I can just imagine children (grandchildren, neighbors) hearing the loud "HONK" and wondering.... Hmmmmmmm ;-)

John, it's beautiful. I really like the way you kept it very geometric... with the solid primaries it just looks very much like something out of a modern art book.

As for clowning around in bed..... sounds like a winner to me, especially on those cold nights. Warms the bed up right nice. >BEG<

Actually, when my wife was bedridden for a couple of days with some strange virus, I brought up a bicycle bell from the basement and stuck it on the headboard. She used to ring it, if she needed me to help her out of bed to the bathroom or bring her something to eat. Kind of an upstairs, downstairs thing. All references to ringing her bell, when in bed, will not be appreciated, at this time.

It is wonderful! I was expecting clowns. My sister is a clown, by profession, so we do some real clown quilts. Yours is much nicer.
