Chiming in, lots of good suggestions here. I'm lucky enough to be near G-Street Fabrics, which is a fabulous resource for quilting, garment sewing and home dec. So, I confess that I have co-mingling on occasion between the garment and quilting stash. But, when I order on-line, I've had good luck with E-Quilter:

I know that my aunt has been using them for years, and had good service when anything at all is an issue - just picking up the phone. I was at some garment sewing class, and the instructor - from California - was quite keen on them as a resource - certainly the prices on the garment specialty side are pretty good - quilting seems in line - neither high nor low. Funnily - the instructor - teaching this seminar in G-Street, then had to let out a big, whoops, of course you can shop here at G-Street (which gives a 20% discount to students in their classes).

Also, the Jinny Beyer shop - just as helpful in person (though I try not to visit too often, although its proximity to the dog's vet has caused some unanticipated S.E.X. ).

I have been to sites and shops, mostly for garment fabrics, where they mix it up. I think that the places I am thinking of do it because they get scared they won't be able to sell fabrics that would come out to more than $50 a yard if they don't do something to try and reduce the sticker shock. It is _very_ Irritating.

What burns my butt is when people complain about sites like this one for example:

Agreed on equilter.com, Ellice. Nice folks, great selection, and they sold me a pair of Laurel Burch socks that have brought admiring comments. ;-)

I guess that is totally up to you. LOL if you have gone for about 11 months now that would be a little expensive for me to back pay myself. My mother always made a came out of saving money. We use to have a cussing pot in our house and if anyone cussed they had to pay the pot a dime, then I was in high school and went to weight watchers, when they quit the group my mother started putting back the money, without my knowledge, for the dues, back then I think it was $5.00 a week, and after I lost all the weight I needed to she gave me the money to go buy me some new clothes. I think I said she paid herself for every day she didn't smoke. When she died I found a stash in her billfold from that. Then she saved all the money she saved by using coupons and also when she bought something on sale she figured what it would have regularly cost and saved that too. Saving can be a lot of fun and the end products are great.

No new keys except "sleep" and "wake up", and I don't know if I want to touch those.

See what happened is I went and knocked a nearly full cup of coffee onto the keyboard. So we got out the emergency keyboard til the other dries out and can be cleaned. The emergency keyboard is one I got for DH for Christmas last year because Ash kept running up, hugging the stuffing out of DH, and knocking DH's beverage onto the keyboard almost every time. This keyboard is very spiffy. Completely enclosed, waterproof, flexible, and if it gets mucky you can just unplug it and wash it off in the sink. It does however feel very different, and while the keys are all in the same place as the old one (except for delete and print screen which are reversed) some of them are different sized. What is giving me trouble is that the left shift key is half the size of the same key on the other keyboard, and the space bar is broken into three keys.

Getting the feel of it is taking some practice. I keep hitting caps lock instead of shift, and not hitting the space bar right. Besides which certain letters want me to hit them dead on instead of at a sloppy angle like the other keyboard allows.

I imagine my typing skills may improve slightly, and I am proofreading more vigorously. These are good things.

The "wake up" key could be quite useful on morning where I have a hard time getting going! LOL

I always assumed some stores list fabric by the half-yard because their ordering software won't take decimals. The only problem I have with that is converting the 1/2 yards to full yards to make sure I order enough. I don't read anything sinister or sneaky about it.

Their website is definitely not 'just looking' friendly. 20, 30 pages is just too much to scroll through. Their catalog is yummy, though.
