Some very clever quilter on this group helped me with building my doggy door by suggesting I use a cheap clear plastic auto floor mat for the swinging door part. It worked wonderfully- wish I could remember who thought of that so I could thank her again! Well, the two mats intended for the back seat floor have been sitting in my laundry room for months, but I'm too cheap to throw them away. Then I got an idea- I'll try one under my sewing machine pedal. Well, in one hour of sewing the pedal hasn't moved- yay! I laid the mat with the nubby side (intended to hold the mat in place on the car's carpet) facing up. The nubbies hold the pedal still. The plastic/smooth side of the mat is staying put on the carpet as well. Cool- problem solved and no extra money spent!
