New to me SM

Kenmore model 1120. It weighs a ton and is very dirty. My DD's MIL had it in the garage and hadn't used it for years. She put it in a yard sale and DD took it out for me.

That's my plan, Carolyn. The belt is about to go so I need to find a place to buy a new one.

I definitely will enjoy it. Once it get it up and running, I can sew when grandson's visit. (One of them always wants to use mine. )

Mine is a Kenmore 1757. Old. HEAVY and I LOVE IT. Best machine I have ever had. Got her from a yard sale, in her original cabinet for $35. Cleaned and oiled and will never let it go ;-)

Congrats on the new addition! ~KK in BC~

Thanks, KK. I wish this had a cabinet. Wonder if it will fit in my old Singer cabinet?

Those old Kenmores are built like tanks. Clean it & oil it and it will surprise you! Have fun!

Sadly, no...Kenmore used a different spacing between the hinge pin openings as well as a larger 'hole' for the hinge pins. Probably on purpose :)

That's a shame really. I LOVE the fact it is in a cabinet. I have no real area in my home to put my SM on a table with any amount of surface area and the cabinet is just the ticket.

Even Kenmore changed the placement of the hinges on their own name. My newer machine (18 years old) wont fit the cabinet either. ~KK in BC~
