SM needles.

This will probably apply to UK'rs. I am wanting to buy some sm needles as a bulk buy for our club and myself.. I like John James ones and wondered if any of you know where I might be able to get them.

I'm not Estelle, but SM= sewing machine

Sorry Estelle, I don't have any John James resources. Good Luck.

Well DUH! why didn't I know that. I like schmetz sewing machine needles and for patchwork and quilting use either sizes 70/10 or 80/12 (denims) unless I'm using metallic thread in which case I'd use a metallic needle. Have a few embroidery needles too. But that wasn't Estelle's question. Sorry don't know where you can buy JJ needles or in bulk.... not much use then am I.. please don't reply to that.

Does John James make SM needles? There are heaps of fine John James hand-stitching needles here but I didn't know they also make them for the SMs. Polly

Thanks, Jeanne! You answered my question even before I posted it. How do you do that? ;)

I see there is a special stiletto on the site. I happen to have one of these tools, and find it very useful. I got if for about $1 in a junk rack at Jo Anne's ... was I lucky or what? I see it is about $10 at this site. That is a tad high, but I really like the tool, so would probably pay that to replace it if I lost it. NAYY. Here it is:

Okay, Jeanne, I have a searching challenge for you! I need tiny white paper envelopes, about 1 in. square. I want to put a few grains of lavender in each one to go with my goodies I am making. Can you find *that*? I can't.....

interesting, I've never quite seen the point of stillettos sold as stillettos, I mean, I see what the use is, just not what specifically about them that means you can't use something else - I use my seam ripper as a stilletto, which is very handy, but looking at the instructions for this one, I can see it's uses, probably not to the extent of buying it at this stage, but if I was wanting to applique bigger pieces or something I might.

I don't know if you'll ever find envelopes that small. Of course, you could easily make your own. Back in my days of associating with the Rich and Famous, those grand dames had tiny silk organza bags of lavender in their power rooms. You could cut squares with pinking shears for real speed, stitch three sides, scoot in the lavender grains and close the opening. It just could be that your Janome will not take kindly to having lavender dropped into her innards so be careful. Polly

Nope, it's got to be paper or the lovely lavender scent can't escape. Plastic just won't work... Sorry.
