Collectible notions?

Dec 09, 2007 11 Replies

Do any of you folks collect vintage notions? I know some of you c ollect old sewing machines. I have found a very few obviously quite old tiny boxes of needes. Most are hand needles -- the teeniest little things I have ever seen. I think I have one little container of machine needles. And, strangest of all is a little box with several machine needles that are curving. Apparently they are for some very special machine that would sew ..... I am not sure how it would work, but there they are.

If anyone wants these, let me know. If there are more than one of you who want them, I will parse them out as far as they go.

What a cool sewing machine!!! With the needles costing $30 each, I'd hate to ask the price of a sm like that! Whew! But if Sunny has the machine to fit the needle- she's onto a REAL treasure!

The curved needles are most likely for a blind hem machine. And some of those needles may be for industrial machines.

I don't want or need any of them, but just make sure you don't throw any away. If there aren't enough takers, there are plenty of folks over at TreadleOn who would love to have them.

The ad says, "We are selling them one at a time."

wow, even better, ta Nann. busy working up a TR in EQ. j.

If you could post them to Uk I would be interested. I have a collection of old needlework tools. The tiny needles could be for beadwork. I also have a blind hemming machine that uses curved needles. Hugs Shirley

The needles are for blind stitching machine. No, I don't have a machine they fit. The box says they are for "The New Dearborn Model 7 & 9." Apparently the Dearborn machine, if you can find one, sells for around $1300 or so. I think they are more common in the UK than in the states.

I only have four little needles for the machine. They are so neat to look at. I will post photos before I send them away.

I'd be interested in the machine needles - are they shorter than normal? Might fit my toy Elna. Roberta in D
