Thanks, Elly. :) I'm glad you like it.

She's really nice -- so nice, in fact, that she used *her* frequent flier miles to take both of us to China to visit my DT when she was living there temporarily. :)

I like country blue, but it does have a lot of grey in it. You need clear pastels or clear brights to make them sparkle against a dark background.

Oh, do! I'd love to see it. :)

And thanks for your kind words! :)

"Elly" schrieb im Newsbeitrag news: snipped-for-privacy@g4g2000hsf.googlegroups.com... Hi Patti, The webshots site is dead easy to use. I managed on my own without DH's input. Which is unusual. Just read and follow instructions on the page. I just have the basic membership which is fine for me at the moment.

Dear, dear Pat on your hill- I didn't get this post, but I completely agree with Elly! I set up my Webshots without any help and that's very unusual for me, too- you KNOW how blonde I am when it comes to computers. I tend to try to fix all computer related problems by banging on or with the mouse. It used to bring him on the run when he heard 'that sound'! VBG Give it a try. The very worst that can happen is that it won't work but then again it might. And we'll still love you.... and your amazing quilts!

Hi Patti and Roberta,

Yes my remark was just a tongue and cheek one... I must say I'm learning more and more about abbrev. words.. like NG. took me awhile but I figured it out.. Newsgroup right? I do appreciate everyone's comments on here.

Yes it's so fun and exciting getting things organized for starting the DJ. I've got myself on the DJ list (is anyone from here on it I wonder?) and I've made a 'virtual' wall hanging using some programmed virtual batiks just to get some idea. It looks lovely in dark reds and pale greens. I've ordered what I hope is some dark red batik. Just hope it's good quality and doesn't run incessantly. Had some fabrics in the basket with Hancocks but for some reason the site wasn't working so abandoned that for now.

And I managed, with DH help to get one of those virtual quilt design thingys put on my pc to scan and hold finished ones... just got to get down to some sewing....

Well my bunnies are hinting for some attention so better go give them their treats.. lol. Elly

Smile! I'm working on Flickr at the moment (having abandoned Photobucket). I've been trying to find somewhere with fewer distracting ads than Webshots. It's not so much getting the pictures onto the website, but finding the pictures on my computer in the first place. DH says 'where did you put them?' Well, how do I know?? >GG< I just click 'save'. I don't know where they go!! I'm getting a bit better about trying to direct them now. I have put 7 photos on this afternoon. It's not quite how I want them yet; and I haven't found out how to direct anyone to see them yet >g< but inch by inch I'll get there. If I don't manage with this one, then I'll resort to Webshots and abandon the attempts at the other two. I feel such a twerp, honestly!

I'm grateful for the confidence of both of you, in my ability to crack this! . In message , Leslie & The Furbabies in MO. writes

Elly, there are several people from here on the DJRetreats list, if that's the one you're talking about. Pati C is on it, as am I (but I'm not making a DJ; I'm doing Quilted Diamonds) and -- I can't remember who else at the moment!

I have pictures of the original Dear Jane Stickle quilt here at my webshot site. They aren't all the best and I couldn't get to all the blocks as I could only hold my arm out so far over the quilt ! It is truely lovely and obviously well taken care of as the colors are so bright ( unlike my photos of it !! ) . This reminds me to go take another look at it as it is probably on display again. Thank you so much for a good giggle Patti! and Leslie!

In answer to your questions (some where else???) YES I have been on the DJ web page and signed onto the list... took me alllllll day yesterday to figure that site out. But I did it. Poor DH is sooooo patient. He usually hogs the pc playing his games, yesterday I hogged it. ALL DAY!!! Then when I finally got off to go feed the buns who were sitting staring at me as they do when the want fed, mind game fashion, DH jumped on here. Then he got off for some reason, to go get a glass of beer, and I went to retrieve my mules (shoes not the four legged variety) from under the pc desk. You should have seen the look of panick on DH face. "It's alright, I said. Just getting my shoes!" Anyway, I fished out some fabric to 'have a go' at a block and that's as far as I got to touching fabric. I did make a 'virtual' quilt in my DJ software package but I have to figure how to add it to webshots just for the fun of it.:DDD Elly... better go eat as I'm going out this afternoon to take DS to the dentist over in Wick... 25 miles away.. he doesn't drive and public transport sucks..... plan to visit Tescos for some plastic storage boxes for DJ and the pet store for treats.

Go> Smile!

Yeah, I am on the DJRetreats list, need to finish quilting my first DJ, get back to working on both my second DJ and my Quilted Diamonds. Was on the big list, but there have been some hiccups there, and I was one of the ones hiccuped off..... sigh.

My goodness! what did you do/say? surely not that bad to get hiccuped off. I've been on the dj mailing list since Sunday and most folk (so far) seem so friendly though something has upset a couple as they've come off this week... didn't read the offending thread as it didn't interest me... was about strollers and quilt shows.. don't use a stroller any more and getting to a quilt show would be a miracle in itself... though not impossible just a very long way to travel. I hate travelling. Got loads of advice on fabrics and notions which is useful and one kind lady is sending me some straws.... (needle kind) . Couldn't you sneak back on under another name :D Never we'll just have to have a DJ natter on here occasionally. :)) Elly from a decidily chilly North Scotland..

2 - computer family! we already have 3 in the household:D DD nicked the laptop that was supposed to be for me... but I haven't pressed charges as I prefer the big one with a decent key board just have to share it with DH, and DS has one in his room which he keeps leaving on and I keep switching off when he's not here. No doubt we could get another pc if we had more room... Maybe when DS moves out I could fix one up in his room..together with all my quilting stuff... then I could go in there in the mornings and only come out for necessary breaks....;) I could get a microwave in there and a mini fridge so I could keep ready meals in there for one..leave everyone else to fend for themselves... I hate cooking........... sorry getting a bit carried away there. :) Elly

LOL I wasn't kicked off the list, but every so often something happens and a lot of people get "removed" for some odd reason or other. One of these days I may try to get back on. Don't think there will be a problem at all.
