Debra's question on expectations

Nov 30, 2006 6 Replies

Debra asked this yesterday and I thought it could be very interesting to bring it up to a new thread this morning. The original subject began about the 27th and covered which black is best. Here's where the discussion wound around to -

" Polly had written - . But just because Kona Bay white is lovely doesn't mean

that Kona Bay black would be fine too. It's a reasonable expectation but
>maybe not a certainty.

and Debra in VA said - This does bring up a question though. Have you run across fabrics that fell far short of the expectation you had because it was a certain brand? "

I'm surprised to tell you that I have not. The few fine fabrics that I expect to be great in another color or print are Nancy Crow's 'crush', Michael Miller's 'frost', and Benartex's florals. Anyone else find a reliable? Polly

I bought some dark red from the RJR/Jinny Beyer palette, and 5 washes later, the dye is still running.

I had a Ginny Beyer green run forever. I finally tossed it. Usually, a good name is good across the board, but there are slip-ups.

I also love Nancy Crow's "crush." I have it in several colors. I have lots of Patrick Lose that I love.
