Decision on Piping

Ann - have you decided what you like on your lovely quilt yet? Are you going with the piping and, if so, what colour did you choose? Hope you'll show us pictures.

HMMM -- I must have missed Ann's post about putting piping on a quilt. All I can say is that I hope it's a small quilt :-). After putting the piping on the white silk quilt, the very thought of doing so again sends a frisson of dread down my spine -- LOLOL! Not sure if that's because I the piping was made from silver metallic fabric or because it was going on silk but it's a challenge I can do without for a long, long time :-))))). CiaoMeow >^;;^<

Thanks Sharon and to all who gave their input. I need to order more fabric anyway, so I'm going to order a burnt orange and maybe a darker green. I like the idea of piping to give it an extra zing but the blue was all wrong.......not from the same colour value family so that's why it didn't scream yes at me.

If I can't decide which way to go, as in piping or not, or what colour, I'll ask DH opinion and give him the final say. That way it'll give him some input as the quilt will be a gift from both of us. Makes him feel like he has contributed to the quilt!!

Tia, my quilt top is approx. 80 x 100 and not worried about the piping at all. I'll fold a 1" strip in half wrong sides together and sew it down, or like Leslie had suggested, sew the 1" strip down, right sides together, using 1/2 seam allowance and it will be like a very narrow border.

I've d>
