deelybob II

Has anyone here used this? I'm looking for a cone adapter to fit on my machine so I can use the cone thread. It is a lot cheaper buying a bigger quantity then just 500 yds on a spool.

I have a Berina 730 and wondered if this would fit my machine and how well it works.

Thanks, Annie

I have looked at the Deelybob products, but I prefer a good cone thread stand. Then I can use a horizontal spool adapter for metallics and some other threads and have a lot fewer problems with any thread. With the cone thread stand, I can use any thread, spool or cone or mini cone. Wonderful, and I don't have to worry about it fitting my machine. I even have one to carry with my "travel" machine.

You know those novelty head bands that have springs with stars, or shamrocks, etc bobbing on the springs? Those are what I call DeelyBobs!! PAT, bobbing in Virginia!

Often I just set the big cone on the floor on the other side of the mchine. It works for my Pfaff. Barbara in SC

I agree. I usually forget that it's possible to put the thread ON the machine. I pack the cone stand for classes too. I think I have three of them. One doesn't have a weighted base, one does (my favorite) and another one has a telescoping center pin to put the thread on. It's supposed to help with threads that want to twist.....though I'm not sure it does. Speaking of.....I have used two complete spools of metallic thread for my little favor boxes. No problems using the metallic thread once I put my top tension down below a setting of 1. No problems at all. I ran out of thread, so I ordered more of the Wonderfil (the other spool was Yenmet) that worked so well. Wouldn't you know it??? This spool is twisting and knotting as it comes off the cone thread holder. I have not changed anything except the thread. Rats. I have it going through three different "loops" to see if I can get the twist out before it gets to the machine. Oh bother!

I taped a large safety pin to the side of my machine with the "hole" in the end pointing up and away from the machine. My big spool of thread sits in a heavy glass sitting beside my machine and is threaded thru the hole. The glass is not critical but helps prevent things from jamming up against the thread spool (my sewing table is pretty crowded!). Allison

I use the cone stand. it pulls the thread off without twisting the cone.
