So, I finished the commissioned wall quilt for my church friend a few days ago. I managed to get all the binding sewn down (only time I really enjoy handsewing!) while Mother was here - kept me from committing Hari-Kari. It looks WAY better than I had ever expected and she was completely impressed with it (she saw it before the binding was put on and decided she liked the idea of black binding, making it look like it was a framed image). Anyway, she paid me as she was walking out the door, and it wasn't until after she had left that I counted what she had given me. Yes, she had paid the remaining balance (plus the extra for the clips that I had bought for her) but she gave me $20 extra!! I called her and told her I owed her change and she said that I should consider it a tip for getting such a large thing - ALL applique - finished...and finished well before she needed it!! WOW!!
Ok then...lol...I took some of the money and bought some supplies for my business so that I can get to work on that and be ready for the first showing in March. HUbby laughed at me because he knows I'm still behind on my Christmas sewing, but oh well, I'll get everything done when it needs to be done.
