Edmonton LQS?

Well we have got here. We're staying in a lovely house in Spruce Green.

I looked in the Yellow Pages and there don't seem to be many LQS to go visit. Does any body know of any that are worth going to?

Love Canada so far. It is just HUGE! I had no idea how big. Everywhere seems miles away from everywhere else! Even a trip for groceries takes a half hour drive. But everyone is so friendly and welcoming, we are haveing just the best time.

Ooooooh, you're so close (and yet so far). Sorry I don't know the area, but couldn't resist waving to you from MN. D'ya see me??? I'm the one with the grin almost as big as yours.

Are you visiting there, or have you moved?

?Are you maybe at Spruce Grove, Nel? That's pretty close to Edmonton.... There are at least five quilt stores in Edmonton--3 are close to each other on the South Side, There are 2 A Quilter's Dream stores--one on the southe side, one on the north. You would find approximately the same things in each. There is a fairly new quilt store on Jasper Avenue and about 116th street-I don't know its name and haven't beeen in it. Earthly Goods and Cottons and More on the south side are both well worth visiting. Enjoy your stay!!

I gave your DH strict instructions to relax, Nel! Has he done that yet? Do they have flying pigs in Canada?

Enjoy the holiday!

He's doing his best, bless him! But I don't help. My nose infection (now duly diagnosed as Staph. Aureus) has become cellulitis. I am going to the Hospital

8 hourly for intravenous antibiotics! Cost so far £500+!!!

And I left my travel insurance documentation at home! :( Good for the blood pressure or what!

I just want to feel well again...(moaning for England here. :) )

Anyway. Visisted Quilter's Dream on 124 Street and bought ...um... one or two things, just to be sociable, you see. Think I might get back there DV before we go home. Then again, I might just moosey on down to one of the others.

DD and DS have joined up with some locals and are having a ball. Super neighbourhood. Lots of acreage and trees. Oh and birds with annoying songs called, I think, chickadees. Sound like Radio Moscow used to.

Glad you've managed one quilt shop visit--I hope you get a chance for more. Those cheeky little birds have two songs-in one, they sing their name-"chick a - dee-dee-dee-dee-dee!", and the other, they whistle a 3 note song that's been interpreted as "Tea's ready!" (Unless you're my daughter-she says they're saying "Cheeseburger!) :-) They stay with us all winter, unlike most birds. Hope you're feeling better soon!

AAAAKKKK!!! Mum had that in a leg - twice! Evil infection, so you have all my sympathy! They used gentian violet on it in the end... (Evil visions of our beautiful Nel with a nose the colour of that purple bear!)

Not! ;) ((((((HUGS)))))) You can get that straightened out later.

Well, the NHS has it's uses, tho' I suspect you picked up the infection when you had the op!

I think you need a little more retail therapy here!

Hehehehehehe! I remember that from Durham days! Glad to hear they are having fun! Just tell DD not to pack a mountie when she's coming home... Might not get through customs!
