? Embird 2006

Wondering if anyone uses this software for embroidery? I downloaded the trial version and have begun to play around with it. I have Pfaff

3D software and in the 3 years that I have have it I've barely used it.

Embird looks a lot simpler and does the same thing.

Yes, and it's wonderful. Well worth getting. You'll use it much more than brand specific software. I've used Embird for several years and just got the updated 2006---actually DH got it for my Christmas gift. Email me if you wish. I'm a huge Embird fan. There are 2 Yahoo groups for it that are very helpful. Gen

Gen - I didn't know that you knew Embird... we'll have to get together sometime so you can teach me. In the meantime -- I'll try to learn how to use my Pfaff 7570!!

Embird is all I use. I got rid of the Viking stuff---now to get rid of the Designer 1. I have a Babylock Ellageo that I use mainly for embroidery. However, it's in MI now getting cleaned and serviced. I took it up when I picked up the Quest. It's amazing how I miss it. I'll be happy when he gets it done. Maybe we can get together when I come up for that---it's in Dearborn Heights. It will be a few days. Not only is it not ready yet, I got myself a nasty head cold, so won't be traveling until I stop coughing and sneezing----this is not conducive to a road trip. I've been converting all my designs to PES from HUS. I can't believe how many are in the wrong folders. Guess the gremlins got to my computer! Gen

Kate, I have a Pfaff 7570 and have no clue how to use the embroidery function. I've got the other components, too. The local store owner said she'll give me lessons but she's gone till late January. We'll have to "get together" sometime and chat about our machines. I'm still learning basics about this machinei. But I think I'm liking it better and better.

thanks for the input.

Unfortunately, no. Bernina is the last of the companies to have proprietary software. Maybe someday they will see the error of their ways. Gen

Good choice. They're loaded with information. Gen

I've sewn on a Pfaff 2030 since 1999 when I started quilting. I bought the

7570 about a year ago. Have tried a few embroidery designs -- some worked... some didn't. I've switched over to it using it for every day sewing -- just so I would be more comfortable with the machine overall.

One of my goals for this next year is to successfully "master" doing embroidery on my machine!
