When this first got a mention here I bought some but haven't used it yet.

Now - I know this is gonna sound silly but . . . . do you think it would stand up to any sort of gentle washing or cleaning? I wanted to try it in applique on clothing, maybe under organza.

Thoughts please from those who have used it.

Cheryl I think the directions said you could hand wash it in cool water. If you look at the "About Etal" section on the Sew Thankful site Leslie posted, it answers all sorts of questions and fun ways to use it. I haven't tried it yet either, but Kathy A has.... maybe she'll provide some input.

Patti S. was a bad influence. I bought one 8.5 x 11 sheet of each color they have. A very bad influence. :)

LOL - I did the same. One sheet of each colour.

I could see this working OK on a jacket applique, but I am thinking of trying it on other garmets with less "structure" - maybe even on knit tops. For those I was going to use an organza overlay.

Thanks for responding. I had read the FAQs but was thinking maybe someone on ng had tried it and I always prefer personal experience over product claims.

Since I have just started my Christmas sewing list I am not going to get to play with Etal anytime soon. LOL

I just got (Thursday) a mixed sample/scrap bag and of course had to try it out immediately!!I cut out petals from the bronze, and sculptured, curled them with my heat gun, the flower sewed to the handbag very nicely and then I sewed on beads too! I liked working with it!Trying to come up with more ideas to use the other colours!

Oooh, thanks for the heat gun idea! I never thought of that. *rubbing hands in glee*
