European Blocks!

Nov 15, 2007 20 Replies

Some of you might remember me asking your advice a couple of weeks ago about how to and what colours for sashing to put these together. I went to my retreat last weekend and took along some solids that arrived just in time from Fabric Depot. I ordered lime, burgundy, purple and jet black. I did use the lime and the burgundy. They were " dergy" ( my word) so I put the lime against the dark ones and Burgundy against the lighter ones. Then sashed with the black. I also managed to finish the quilting on our club charity quilt. It is having the binding sewn on as we speak. This one was based on the Blooming 9 Patch I made for myself at retreat last year.( Still waiting for the quilting to be finished) If you have read so far and not nodded off ,you might like to take a look!

Thank you for the link...

However, that quilt is gorgeous!!!!! I loved the blocks and the framing just sets them off perfectly. Wonderful. Wonderful. Everything from the arrangement to the framing -- it's all great. Very inspiring, Estelle, and congratulations on a beautiful quilt.

Very nice, Estelle! I do like Blooming 9-Patch quilts, and yours is really lovely. As for the quilt with the European blocks, you did a great job on that! You're right -- the lime and burgundy add a wonderful effect as they frame the blocks, and the black ties it all together. :)

Howdy!

Beautiful, Estelle.

Thanks Liz - if there's a chance of getting computer-confused, I'll be there!

Estelle those decisions were perfect. I love the combination - it looks elegant, and talk about tying those disparate blocks together - marvellous. . In message , Liz Megerle writes
