Finished mom's quilt and matching tote!

Finally! Her second chemo is Thursday. I don't think the quilt will arrive in time- darnnit! Be gentle on me... this is only the second quilt I've quilted since Pat and Polly insisted I try dropping the feed dogs. VBG And a big THANK YOU to Polly for all her advice and information on working with Minkee and to Pat on her hill for her advice, helping me work with 'delicate colors' and suggesting the marvelous loop-de-loops quilted in the flower petals and the bud. And another thank you to both ladies for keeping me going with words of encouragement!

Howdy!

This is charming. I think Estelle's dragonflies may be looking for this Garden.

Best wishes to your mom. And her quilting daughter.

Looks wonderful to me! Your work speaks for itself... you are no longer a "beginner" free motion quilter!

I'm sure it will bring great comfort!

Oh, they're *wonderful*, Leslie! If I were your mom, I'd love them. I really like the way the tote coordinates without exactly matching the quilt -- and the quilt itself is just gorgeous! I do like delicate colors -- and bright colors, and subdued colors, and .... ;)

Terrific! Sometimes delicate colors appear too subdued for my taste, but this one has a very lively personality. Sending good thoughts for your DM. PAT in VA/USA

Leslie - your mom's quilt and tote are WONDERFUL!!!!! I absolutely love the quilting you did on it! The quilt looks very snuggly which is what you were trying to achieve, I'm sure.

What pattern did you use for the tote? (I haven't looked at the other replies to your post so you may have already answered my question!)

Again - wonderful work!!!!

That is lovely... You say it is your SECOND free-motion quilt?

Wow, again. Congratulations on such a beautiful project.

Well, yes and no. I used to try to free motion with the feeddogs UP. I was afraid of the complete loss of control with them down. My stitch length was a little better with them up, but my 'shapes' weren't as smooth. So it's only the second with the feeddogs down. Kinda corn-fusing??? LOL
