From TerriLee

TerriLee called and talked to my DH and asked me to pass on this message. They survived the windstorm last night but are still without power. One neighbor was trapped in his home for 4 hours when a tree fell on it. Others were more fortunate. The area where she lives is all but closed down so crews can remove downed trees, etc.

I was lucky, I watched blocks of lights go out all around me but mine only flickered. Lots of trees down, even blocking freeways and main roads, bridges closed, mud slides, train tracks between Washington and Oregon are out. We got hammered but good. We don't seem to be able to clean up and regroup between storms this winter. I'm glad Teri and family are well. I'm assuming that the reason we haven't heard from others in Western Washington is that their power is still out. Hope all is well as our NG friends check in.

Our lights only flickered as well. There were some trees down and power outages around us but much worse to the north.

I heard those storms were really terrible. So glad to know that she is okay. Hope they get power back soon.

Thanks Mary!

Our winds weren't nearly as bad as they had in the Seattle area but they were bad enough. We were on the southern edge of the storm.

EEK! Spounds scary. Fingers are crossed that everyone up there is OK and they get power back soon.

Yay!!! My power is back!! And so is the newsserver from Earthlink. Double-Yay. Thanks Mary, for letting everyone know we survived. Good thoughts to Sunny on the east side of the state - at least i don't have snow (yet). Thanks to everyone for all your prayers; miraculously, my neighbor, who was pinned in his trailer, had nothing broken, no internal injuries, and will likely get released from the hospital today. Since I've missed the last 8 days of posts, mostly, except when I had time to read/post from work, I think I will once again start over. Happy dances for everyone finishing things, and prayers for anyone who needs them!! I'm grateful to be warm, fed, and alive.

I hope we hear from others as well. My power was off almost 48 hours.... came on just a little while ago. What a BRUTAL storm!!! Tore the roof off of my carport, and completely lifted a shed I had in my backyard, off it's foundation, up over the neighbors garage, and then down into the neighbors yard behind him. It took out a rain gutter and a couple of kayaks along the way. Also took part of the roof off my deck. It was a really, REALLY scary night! My poor dogs were just beside themselves. I'm feeling very fortunate tonight to have my power back, as the temps are supposed to dip down into the high 20's and low 30's. Lots and lots of people are seeking emergency shelter so they can at least stay warm.

Thank you to all who sent me emails of concern..... I'll be relieved to hear from others in Seattle area as power returns.

Glad to hear you are OK, Patti. But sorry about the damage. We have 3 couples I know of staying at the motel that are still without power here.

So glad to hear it wasn't any worse, Patti! But what a mess to deal with. I'm sorry for all you've had to bear the last couple of days. Poor pups. KJ

Up here in Burnaby ( just east of Vancouver), I also was without power for almost 48 hours. AS this is a most unusual occurrence here, I wasn't stocked, so have been eating yogurt and granola for 2 days - everything else required cooling. I really need to restock my pantry. I did get some hand quilting done in the daylight hours.

OMG!! Well at least none of my buildings were damaged! All of the fencing is gone, but that's replaceable, I suppose. Although one of the100-ft trees that fell missed my DS/DDIL/DGD trailer by mere inches, and the branches rather dented the door/side. Thankfully, no one hurt, but everyone scared half to death. That was about an hour before the one fell on the neighbor. I've had intermittent power today, but it's staying on longer each time. I locked my Akita dog in the kennel in the house after the 2nd tree took out the fence that keeps him in. It took nearly 45 min to coax him back!! Glad to hear that you're OK, Patti. Has anyone heard from Jaylynne? She lives a bit south of me, and I haven't ventured that far from home yet. I did manage to find a store open that had milk for the baby (DGD) today, she was so cute, she said "Thank you, Gramma!!!!" loud enough that the store clerk even chuckled. Hope everyone is doing as well as we are. I even got some stuff straightened up in the SR today. 10 projects all going at once makes a huge mess, in case you didn't know.

I'm in north Seattle and we are doing fine now other than lots of trees down and the blue tarps are blooming all over roofs and such. My son and a couple of friends live down in Tacoma and their power came on late this afternoon, my friend in Olympia got power back this morning. The further away from the cities the longer it will take to have utilities restored. Another friend in Woodinville can't even get out of their housing development there's so many tree down and she was told this evening it could be up to 5 days till they get power. At least they have a wood stove, a well stocked pantry and generator for their fridge and freezer and to keep the cell phones charged.

I do have Jenn's ph # and if I haven't heard from her here by tomorrow, I'll call. Also, Donna in Bellevue is someone else local to me that I haven't heard from. I think if I look, I can find her # also. I'll post when I know something. Power has been on steady since 7:30 pm tonight, so maybe it will stay on. I'm working on hotpad sets for my SILs while the power is on, since I don't have the treadle up and running yet.

I could use some prayers for my DS & DDIL, though, they've come down with some kind of stomach flu, and are puking!! As if the outdoor disaster wasn't quite enough. Baby appears to be fine, thankfully. It's harder to keep her hydrated. Thanks bunches!!!

Wow Patti, that's so scary! Glad to know the only damage was structures, those can always be fixed or replaced. As long as you and yours are safe... Come down to Florida... it's 67 degrees right now, we avoided any hurricanes this year and I've got a pull-out couch! Hope you like cats, 'cause they'd be sleeping with you! Hugs,

I'm fine, no worries. Our power was out for only 17 hours, but in the meantime, I had to work, had a Messiah concert to sing in, and four Nutcracker performances to be at. DD is performing in them, but I'm downstairs as one of the assistant seamstresses and younger girl wrangler (ugh, they can be a pain...more on that later). I'm fine, just tired.
