Grandgirls quilting

Feb 12, 2008 6 Replies

My 2 oldest grandgirls are 5 and 6. I have a little Janome sewing machine just their size. I let them sew by themselves. I drew lines for them to sew on and sat by their side while they operated the machine. I was so proud of them. The lines worth claiming are label C for Cheyann the oldest and B for Becky the 5 yr old. If anyone would like to see these little girls very first attempt there are 2 pictures in my Webshots.

GREAT JOB!!!!!!!!!!!!! Another generation of enthusiasts!

It is so exciting to see them taking an interest at such a young age....My DGD is 6 also, and I started her with hand pieceing because since a baby(3yo) she has had her own "fadric" stash....., it was so exciting to see her stitches progress...now she is sewing on my machine with supervision....I plan on buying her a small Janome, perhaps for her birthday in August or else for Christmas.... Wow, pretty good job, there. Move over, gals. Make room around the cyberframe for quilters C & B. Hurray!

Yep it sure is. I know that Mommy would love to get her hands on it but all she got was a picture. Daddy will probably want it too but guess what. No way Hosa!!!! If they want samples then they will just have to get a sewing machine and let the girls sew one for them. Although I just might let them do one just for Daddy if he really wants one.
