It seems that I just can't get to my quilting. Everything else seems to get in the way! I did make a wreath wallhanging to donate to my church bazaar. The pattern was the same as one I'd made a couple years ago. I also sewed some leftover strips together to make a baby quilt similar to one I made several years ago....I used up every last scrap! Both can be seen in my webshots albums near the end of "My Quilts".
I also made flannel pants for both of my grandsons. I always leave a big safety pin in the elastic until they try them on, and then I sew them. I found out the oldest wore his for two days with the pin in the back!!
I also made Halloween costumes. The oldest DGS wanted to be a teddy bear. I made the body and the head piece. The body fit fine...the head was way too small. It fit his little brother, 7 months old. I went to a copy store and had them enlarge the pattern and made a new head. Of course, we then had the smaller head and it looked so cute on the baby.........I just had to make a smaller version of the body. They looked really cute as "twin" teddy bears. Their pics are in the "Shoebox" album.
Unfortunately, pins seemed to like to hide in the brown fur. I tried to cut one with my serger (it's in the repair shop now having both blades and the faceplate replaced). AND, I tried to cut another pin with my good scissors! I've had them for over 30 years. My late mother gave them to me. They've always been "off limits" to everyone, and I've never had to have them sharpened. Well, I do now! I'm not sure I like sewing fake fur!!
