Back to Quilting!

I've had a whirlwind month and am glad to get back to Quilting in August. My son Matthew is bringing me a used TV so I can use it to play DVDs on while quilting in my lower living room. Today I am getting the DVD. So then all he will have to do is plug in the TV and attach the DVD and I can watch movies from the 1800s while I quilt. I love the Jane Austen and Dickens stories. And if I like the TV enough I'll have the cable company hook it up for what TV channels have to offer. Does it sound as if I am trying to justify having another TV in the house? Perhaps. This past month I traveled to Iowa for my 70th all school reunion in Sully, Iowa. I knew I was to speak for my class, but I did not know I was the "only" speaker. Anyway, my granddaughter who came from Connecticut for the occasion said I did good. Who could ask for more than to be approved by a 19 year old. The Quilt stretched out on my 94 inch frame is colorful and will be a joy to start on as I figure out what quilt I want to piece together next. Rhoda snipped-for-privacy@att.net

Congrats on the speech and granddaughter's approval. I've had a very busy couple of months myself and am having difficulty getting back into a sewing mindset. I did manage to get 2 blocks pieced for a BOM for which I missed the first 2 sessions. I have that session later this week. I'm also working on hand quilting a king sized quilt. Only have the last 2 sides of the last border to do and just can't get motivated to finish it. It should have been done weeks ago. I have another one all sandwiched and ready to go and have to start my first 'commissioned' quilt for one of my nieces. I really need to just put my mind to it and get moving. BTW, I love the TV in my sewing room. Can ignore the background noise when I want or pay attention to it when I need/want to.

No need to justify that TV Rhoda! You deserve it - and you'll enjoy it too.

How many were at your reunion? How many from your class? We have an all-school reunion every year, but I don't think it really gets a great turnout.

Would love to see pics of that quilt when you're done! You'll post them on your Web site, won't you?
